CABERFEI DEERHOUNDS We have had deerhounds since 1979 and only breed occasionally. We ensure that both sire and dam are suited for each other to ensure the best quality pups. Over the last 40 or so years, we have only bred 9 litters. It is our belief that only good quality Deerhounds should ever be bred from. We do not have puppies at present, but may have some in the near future. We have been members and supporters of the Deerhound Club of Victoria since 1979. Breeding for type, soundness and temperament,Our deerhounds are Multi Best of Breed and Challenge winners at Sydney Royal for the last eight years. The 2005 The Best of Breed at Brisbane Royal with our Ch. Weirskints Brighid Roo. In all breeds shows they have achieved in show Best in Group and in group awards. The Puppies are bred for type, temperament and soundness. Their sweet nature will make them excellent family pets. Unforeseen circumstances mean we have a couple of pups available to exceptional homes. This litter, born in early October '25 have had their first health check, vaccination and microchip. Deerhounds are not your average dog. They love human companionship and interaction and make excellent pets. They do need the ability to run around very fast daily. They also sleep about 23 hours of the day. These dogs are large in size (40+kgs), are a hunting breed, and do require training and socialization. As a wire haired breed their coats are easy to maintain. Our pups are born in our house and raised in our home with our children and busy lives. Usually they are fairly well toilet trained before they go to their new forever home. Extensive efforts have been made to introduce as many situations as is possible without exposure to illness. The Pups parents were DNA screened for Factor VII and tested for Liver Shunt. These pups are Registered with Dogs NZ. Healthwise, the pups are wormed every fortnight, treated with a flea treatment, microchipped and vaccinated prior to going home. They will leave with 6 weeks free pet insurance which we encourage purchasers to maintain. Each pup will go home with a puppy pack, which includes a manual with details of how they have been reared and with helpful information, registration papers, a fortnights’ worth of food, treats, toys, blanket, collar, lead and a contract.
