Schlau Miniature Long Haired Dachshunds is a small select kennel that has specialised in the breeding and showing of this variety for 45 years with in excess of fifty Australian and International Champions. We are constantly striving to improve the breed as a whole with carefully planned breeding programs and a natural diet, which enhances the health and wellbeing of the puppies that we breed. We usually only breed to enhance our show team but sometimes have puppies and mature dogs available to loving homes. All puppies are provided with a puppy pack, limited registration papers, will have been on a regular worming program from 2 weeks of age, vaccinated and micro-chipped before going to their new homes. In working to improve the breed all stock has been PRA tested. My dogs have had a full breed profile tested through ORIVET and are all PRA clear, SDMD Clear. They also receive screenings in Back scoring, Patella and Thyroid testing. All prospective dams and sires are screened by myself along side a couple of long time breeders who are my mentors to choose the best possible breeding match to help breed healthy and to the breeding standard.
