Canicula Kennels' breeding programme is based on pure working line Spaniels bred for their natural ability for hunting and performance in the field. In our breeding we concentrate on superior temperaments with a correct balance of drives using the finest overseas and local lines available. Our dogs excel in traditional gundog Field and Retrieving disciplines, as well as non-traditional dog sports like Agility. Their high drive together with an easy, willing dependable disposition makes them a perfect choice for Service Personnel, Government Agencies, or Professionals working in the scent detection field. A lot of the same qualities like sound stable temperament, and trainability that we revere in our working dogs are equally as important in pets making them suitable for active pet homes. BFFUREVER is a small breeder of beautiful cocker spaniels, producing sound and true to type puppies with lovely temperaments. We are a family affair. Our grown dogs and puppies are part of our family and are much loved by our children and extended human family members. Puppies are raised in our home with all the sights, smells and noises of a busy family household. Our cocker spaniels are genetically tested and clear for the hereditary diseases AON, PRA, FN and AN. All our dogs are hip scored, scoring below the national hip score average. Our dogs and our puppies are raised on a diet of fresh food, Advance and Royal Canin kibble. I am a show exhibitor and select breeder of solid English Cocker Spaniels (Black, Gold and Black and Tan). My aim is to breed healthy cocker spaniels of the highest quality, temperament and type. To further improve my breeding program, I have imported dogs from both the UK and France. Puppies are bred to produce quality show dogs and to improve the breed, hence I only have limited litters. From these litters however, puppies may be available as loving family companions. Puppies are lovingly raised in our home and well socialised. Puppies are sold on "Limited Register" which means that they cannot be shown or bred with. The Limited Register still allows them to compete in dogs sports such as agility, obedience, tracking, Dancing with Dogs, Gundog retrieving and field trials etc. Of utmost importance is the health and well being of my dogs. At Carawood all my dogs are DNA tested for the main hereditary problems in the breed. Selective and careful breeding ensures that none of my dogs will ever be affected these diseases: PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), FN (Familial Nephropathy) and AON (Adult Onset Neuropathy). I am a committee member of the Cocker Spaniel Club of Victoria and actively involved with the club. Marty is a beautiful gold 18 month old desexed fully vaccinated young man. Full of love and life. He loves balls, ropes and fetching. (Could easily become obsessive about them). Fairly energetic and very happy and playful with other dogs. Marty is quite smart, loves to please and likes kids and cats. Marty is looking for a family who already has a dog, he has never been without a playmate so would be happier with one. Doesn’t matter if friend is aged, if he gets a bit playful for an oldie, one growl and he’s happy to back off and try again later. Marty has always been an outside doggie, but will probably adjust to indoors given time. He does however require a house yard to play in. An apartment or unit will not be considered for Marty. Marty hasn’t had a sick day in his life and is a picture of health. Beautiful Golden desexed male available. Diesel (DOB: 14/09/2019) will be spending a month at a board and train facility and will be ready to go to his new home in December 2024. He will be delivered to the new owner directly by the trainer. The new owner will have unlimited access to the trainer should you require any advice. The reason for the board and train is because he has grown up on a farm and the trainer is exposing him to city life!
