With our induction into the Chow Chow breed back in 1972, we are now one of Australias oldest & largest breeder/exhibitor kennels today.

Along the way on the Teddy bear trail we have worked hard within the breed & feel that we have helped contribute to improve the breed along the way.

We have bred some BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW WINNERS as well as RUNNER UPS. We've also bred BEST IN GROUP & BEST IN SHOW winners over the years, along with CLASS IN GROUP and SHOW AWARDS everywhere, to numerous to mention.

We have been breeding chows for over three decades.

Our emphasis is on developing chows with the best temperament to be companion pets. That being said, many of our pups are shown in conformation. Our chow pups are reared in-house and have the best possible start. The dam and sire have been health checked by the Reproductive Veterinary practice that attends to the health of our chows.

At 4 weeks, new chow parents are invited to visit our happy canine family and a pup is allocated.

Pups are vet-checked, vaccinated, microchipped.
From 8 weeks old, pups go to their forever homes.

I have been dedicated to this wonderful breed since 1997. Betabear is based in the South West of Western Australia. Active member of Dogs West. I have now retired Inka who has produced some beautiful puppies who are in numerous states around Australia. I selectively breed on the odd occasions to continue to improve the breed. My pups are placed in the best possible homes and I continue to keep in touch with the new owners. I provide a comprehensive puppy pack and believe in promoting responsible dog ownership. Chowleigh Kennels was established in 1972 by Bob and Merle Williams and today is also helped by daughters Narelle and Claire. Chowleigh Kennels have imported 19 Chow Chows over the years from both the UK and USA. They are currently working with lines from both countries which have allowed them to produce quality examples of the breed and the pedigrees they work with and produce can be found in many foundation dogs of kennels around the country and in NZ. Consistently producing Best In Show and Group winners, Chowleigh Kennels ultimately aim to produce puppies which not only look great on the outside but are also healthy and sound. They have been hip scoring their breeding dogs since 1982 and elbow scoring since 1994 and hope to see the breed continue on its way to a long and healthy future. hi every one , we had a litter on saturday 19TH of october 2024 and we will be breeding again in 2025 . just letting you know we are taking enquiries from others who would like to have a new family member share their home . please be advised we have people waiting for puppies but there may be changes and people drop out as peoples circumstances change . if you would like to go on our waiting list or are interested in a new family member , please let us know by EMAIL . our cost will be $4500.00 , a deposit of $1500.00 will be required at 6 weeks and the balance of $3000.00 to be paid at 8 weeks when they are ready to go to there new homes , plus transport cost . our puppy pack contain information containing the basics on looking after your new puppy , foods and grooming tools that are required . they have been toilet trained , they will be immunised / wormed . micro-chipped and vet checked with D.N.A testing and parentage testing with pedigree papers to follow , papers will be on full pedigree papers not limited .
