Our love of Brittany's began 16 years ago with the purchase of our first Brittany. Since then we have been fortunate to own a few more of these wonderful dogs. Our Brittany's come from successful show and hunting stock. Our primary interest is developing Brittany's for family pets and hunting. We believe this is what they really enjoy and excel at. We hunt with our Brittany's and they really love this. They are very affectionate and would prefer to sit on your lap than the floor. Our Brittany's spend as much time in doors as they do outside. I am no longer breeding puppies At Rockfire Brittanys my dogs are loved house pets as well as weekend show dogs. Health, Temperament and Conformation are all equally and vitally important to me when planning any mating. All my brittanys used in breeding have been hip and elbow xrayed and eye checked.

We are a small kennel breeding selectively with quality and proven dogs. Our dogs have beautiful temperaments, wonderful natures and are brought up with children in a family environment. Puppies are sold on a Dogs Victoria limited register, Vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped and wormed. Our dogs are fantastic as pets, companions, obedience, agility, trialing events and are exceptional at gun dog work. Fierbird Brittanys are a small Kennel breeding for quality, soundness, working ability, & conformation . Our Brittanys are first and foremost family pets, we also hunt & show our dogs . We health test all our dogs ( Including hip & elbows x-raying, Current clear eye certification & are heart checked by a cardiologist prior to breeding ) . We take pride in only using the best possible combinations of dogs using our 20 generation pedigree programing software as part of our breeding program to determine the best line breeding coefficient percentages for our puppies . We also look at multi generational ancestry genealogy behind our lines, together and in combination with health testing & soundness we determine what we believe are a superior blend of dogs for what we are breeding towards . Here at Windkael Kennels we have been hunting with, breeding,& competing with quality Bretons (Britts) of fine European Descent since 1986. Our philosophy has always followed the French edict of 'Breeding for the Whole dog' meaning our dogs are equally at home in the show ring as they are hunting or competing in Field & Retrieving trials. Our foundation sire made history as winer of WGAA Vic's inaugural Retrieving trial, by beating a field of 42 dogs, which included 2 RT Champion Labradors, at their own game. Multiple wins by Windkael Bretons in the field have followed on since. With high emphasis placed on our dogs being integral members of your family we strive to ensure their temperament is as important as their hunting instincts & ability.
