Our love of Brittanys first began with a family pet called Eddie. We'd never seen a dog with so much energy and lust for life, and she made the perfect addition to our home. What an impact she made on our lives! We recently had an opportunity to purchase our first pedigree Brittany, and jumped at the opportunity. 'Pepper' continued on our experience with Brittany and proved to be equally well rounded and eager personality. We aim to breed from her and her offspring moving forward, and will be looking to produce sound, all-round Brittanys, with excellent confirmation, and the biddable, fun loving nature these dogs are renowned for. Our dogs live with us in our home, indoors and out, thrive on their Raw Meaty Bones (RMB) diet, and are wonderfully active and healthy, with loving and inquisitive dispositions. Our passion for this breed inspires us to strive to produce happy , healthy Brittanys . The Brittany is a versatile dog , bred traditionally to be what it's natural instinct is and that is to hunt . On the field it will never disappoint and its temperament is one that every owner will fall in love with . Also makes a wonderful loyal pet and will quickly find his/her place in the family . We have been involved with the breed now for 13 years now and we are dedicated to improving this wonderful breed.

Here at Windkael Kennels we have been hunting with, breeding,& competing with quality Bretons (Britts) of fine European Descent since 1986. Our philosophy has always followed the French edict of 'Breeding for the Whole dog' meaning our dogs are equally at home in the show ring as they are hunting or competing in Field & Retrieving trials. Our foundation sire made history as winer of WGAA Vic's inaugural Retrieving trial, by beating a field of 42 dogs, which included 2 RT Champion Labradors, at their own game. Multiple wins by Windkael Bretons in the field have followed on since. With high emphasis placed on our dogs being integral members of your family we strive to ensure their temperament is as important as their hunting instincts & ability. All of our breeding stock are hip scored to ensure physical soundness with only the very best males & females considered for breeding.
