We, Andreas and Carmen both originally from Germany and living in the beautiful surroundings of Adelaide/South Australia since 2005, have established the kennel CARMANDY BRIARDS in 2014. We are aiming to breed high quality Briards for the love and enjoyment of these wonderful breed.
Our dogs are above all family companions and of course live in the house with us. Our focus is on maintaining the breed characteristics and not on producing numbers and of course we are testing for hereditary diseases!! Puppies are born and raised in the house, with permanent human interactions. We also raise our puppies with the puppy culture program from day 3 of their life, including Early Neurological Stimulation, Emotional Resiliency Exercises, Safe Early Socialisation, The Enrichment Affects, Puppy Parties, Puzzle Games and Problem Solving, Anti Aggression Protocols, Leash Walking, Clicker Training, Potty Training, Crate Training, Manding, Problem Prevention and much more... (Please send message for more informations).
Obviously we are Briard crazy and enjoy everything about the breed :)
If you are interested in adopting a puppy please drop us a line, we would be delighted hearing from you. [email protected]
The Merveille prefix was established in 2001 by Dr Kay Sanderson. Kay has loved and lived with briards for over 25 years. Merveille is an ancient French word meaning marvellous or wonderful which indeed briards are. It was only in 2019 that Kay bred for the first time with her beautiful, friendly, fawn girl, Freya, officially Tiahart Miss Monroe.
In an endeavour to increase the gene pool in Australia. Kay imported semen from a beautiful black briard boy from Belgium. His name is Marco Polo du Coeur des Tresors, owned by Peggy Vlaminckx. Marco is a Belgium youth champion with a character test score of 18/20.
Freya gave birth to 10 healthy puppies on 17th September, 2019 then 13 healthy puppies on 16th January 2021. All these puppies are in lovely homes with owners reporting lovely characteristics and beautiful temperaments..
Freya and Marco's beautiful, affectionate and loving fawn daughter gave birth to 6 gorgeous puppies mid July 2022 and 7 gorgeous puppies mid July 2023. Semen was imported this time from a beautiful fawn Italian champion called Lud. Hermione O'Ren, his owner, describes Lud as a very friendly, affectionate, balanced, loyal and attentive dog. All puppies from both litters have loving homes and very happy owners.

Our love for Briards has extended over thirty years and during this time we have exhibited and promoted our breed in the show ring throughout NSW with great success. Our two recent dogs, Boots and Puddles have performed exceptionally well in Conformation Shows, winning multiple age groups. Of particular note was Boots’ performance in winning a Best in Show award as a Junior, dog. This success has generated within us a desire to spread our good fortune and success to others by commencing a breeding program under the breeder’s prefix Coevante.
Our aim is to promote the breed through developing sound and well-tempered dogs, that demonstrate the true characteristics of this breed which has been described as a “a heart wrapped in fur”.
We are very fortune to announce that our first litter will be due on 2nd May 2022.
The Glenine prefix has been breeding working dogs since first being registered in 1948. We are now second generation registered breeders, with hopes to pass on this wealth of knowledge to a third generation.
Briards are first and foremost a working dog. They love to work and to please their human families. They are just as happy in the paddock as on the couch, but need leadership.
We breed to the standard for a well balanced (both mentally and physically) and well put together dog that can be a loving member of the family as well as being able to compete in desired disciplines, be it the show ring, herding etc.
As I am what you would call a newbie to this breed it does not mean that prior to purchasing my first Briard that there wasn't much study involved... 5 years later here we are.
Funnily enough I was wanting a Light Fawn Bitch.....I ended up with a Black Dog, my now stunning Au Ch Oscar de la Manoliere (imp France). I had my fawn bitch on order when I was asked would I possibly be interested in a black dog knowing that I was wanting to show......not really was my initial response.....Now its history!!
Since then I now have my Light Fawn Bitch thanks to Gav Haussmann from Aubrey Briards in New Zealand...Aubrey's Blonde Bombshell aka Hunni.(halfway to her Au Ch) title with very limited showing.
I now have her son from her first litter as well Adam Trahlahlah Simply the Best!! A fawn stunner to say the least!!!
Ms Hunni has had New Years Day 2024 2 fawn Boys and 5 gorgeous Black Girls dad is Mervaille Exquis Django son of the extremely well known Sel. Marco Polo du Coeur des Trésors a stunning Black dog from Belgium now born 1st January 24 continuing using European Bloodlines Django’s mother is from the
very well-known Australian Breeder Tiahart Kennels she is the lovely Tiahart Miss Monroe!! Very appropriate match with the Blonde Bombshell lol
