I have been breeding Border Collies for nearly fifteen years now and other dog breeds for over 40 years. My aim is to produce top quality puppies with excellent temperaments - suitable for families, dog sports and showing.
My dogs are used for Dog Obedience, Agility, Lure Coursing and Livestock Work. They are my loyal companions and travel with me almost everywhere. All puppies are socialised and exposed to all farm animals, children and cats from birth.
All my dogs are DNA tested and clear of genetic diseases.
I also specialise in various colours.
As a Breeder, I offer ongoing Breeder support and basics in puppy training, being a qualified trainer myself.

Sonstrid Border Collies is located in South East Queensland and our dogs are our family. We base our everyday lives around loving and competing with our dogs in the sports that they love. We compete in Agility, flyball, rally-o, canine disc, tricks and more recently conformation. First and foremost though our dogs are our family and they hang out with us all day inside and outside the home.

We are a small breeder with only the two bitches and our beloved companion boy. Our litters are bred mainly when we plan to expand the family. Our puppies are suitable for active, enriching, loving families and performance homes, with preference being placed to sporting homes.

Our breeding goals are to produce Confident, well adjusted, happy, loving and structurally sound pups to suit the lifestyle of their future homes. We raise our puppies with ENS & ESI as well as using puppy culture methods which ensures your pups best chance at being confident and happy for life. Puppy homes will not be selected until pups are 6-8 weeks old.

All our dogs have Up to date DNA panel testing as well as Hip & Elbow scores at a minimum.

I have owned Borders Collies for over 35 years, there has been and is no other breed for me except a Working Dog. I am a registered Breeder and Exhibitor with Dogs QLD and started in dog (Obedience/Agility) in the 80's, dabbled in herding before migrating across to the Conformation Show Ring in 2000's. I am an aspiring Conformation and Herding Judge with Dogs QLD, Accredited Conformation Show Writer, Steward and Orivet DNA Collection Agent. All Dogs and Bitches in our Kennels are tested for Glaucoma, DNA tested for CEA, NCL, TNS, and Hip/Elbow x-rayed and scored under the current ANKC recognised scheme. I breed minimal litters a year focusing on 'quality rather than quantity', which means considerable care is taken when planning suitable matings and producing quality puppies potentially for retention in Show Conformation or our Breeding program. Additionally a vital part of the breeding program is to ensure that all our dogs are actively involved in Herding which is part of the breeds natural instincts and heritage, with one vision of continuous improvement and parity to the Breed Standards and preservation of the breed for future generations to enjoy the most wonderful of dog breeds the Border Collie!

I have been a border collie breeder since 1995 and have been lucky to breed some lovely dogs who have gone to wonderful homes. Many of my original owners have come back for their second, third and sometimes fourth new baby and I thank them for their loyalty.

We aim to raise our pups in a home environment where they are socialised with many people and at least five of my grandchildren who live nearby.

We are happy to announce the arrival of two beautiful litters. The first litter is out of Nova (Bojak Celestial Supernova) and Shep (Borderstrand Made with Shade) - pups available are:

This litter was born on the 10th October 2024 and will be ready to go to their new homes on the 3rd December 20204.

Parents are Hip and Elbow Scored and DNA tested to ensure that none of the pups can be affected by any testable hereditary disease.

Our pups are vaccinated and microchipped as well as wormed regularly. We provide a comprehensive folder of information which could be helpful in different situations and I am always happy to have a phone conversation at any time and help out as best I can for the life of your dog.
