Since 1983 my love of the Belgian Shepherd has introduced me to the world of showing and breeding some beautiful dogs, and also being involved in the welfare (rescue) of this very special breed, both in the UK and here in Australia. My first BSD was a groenendael, the very special 'Vanistica In a Whirl', and was a wonderful introduction to Belgian Shepherds. I breed the Tervueren and Malinois varieties of the Belgian Shepherd Dog but always have a Groenendael male by my side, and the gorgeous Milan (Ch Mirribandi Quiet Storm at Belengere HT) is my black dog in residence! I breed primarily for the purpose of improving the quality, health, welfare, soundness and working ability of this beautiful breed in accordance with the FCI breed standard. The BSD may show promise for a range of dog sports, such as conformation (showing), and other activities families might enjoy with their dogs, such as herding, lure coursing and obedience.

Molniya Groenendaels is a small hobby kennel located just outside of Dunedin, Otago. Our program is focused on preservation and breeding healthy, social, driven Groenendaels with performance sports in mind. We are working on improving genetics diversity in New Zealand hence why we are using overseas bloodlines. Our breeding dogs are Hip and Elbow scored, KCAS Eyes Certified and Embark DNA Profiled. All dogs we use are titled in sports of choice before being selected for breeding to make sure that puppies have best potential for performance sports. Our puppies are raised using ENS and ESI, AviDog program and socialised extensively. Puppies will be temperament tested by various dog professionals before being assigned to their forever homes. Our first itter (January, 2024) - 3 boys and 4 girls. All went to sporting and experienced homes. Dam: Passchendael Black Pearl JD (competing in agility) Sire: Jarak Perro de la Casa Negra IGP3 (based in Holland and going to FMBB 2024 in April). Next litter - end of 2026. Sire is yet to be decided but it will be an AI litter. I'm considering males from Europe or USA competing in protection sports.

We are a small kennel located on the beautiful Fleurieu peninsula in South Australia breeding, showing and trialing Belgian Shepherds (Groenendael & Tervueren) and Samoyeds. All of our breeding stock are fully health tested, DNA profiled and undergo a temperament evaluation. We enjoy training and competing in a multitude of dog sports with our dogs but first and foremost they are beloved family pets. All of our puppies are raised in the home, well handled and socialized with an emphasis on natural rearing techniques. We are experienced behavioral trainers and use only force-free methods. All of our dogs are purpose bred to closely resemble their breed standard as much as possible with an emphasis on continuing to be able to do the 'work' their breed was originally intended to do, as well as being competitive across a range of other dog sports. We are passionate about what we do, and take our role as caretakers of these breeds very seriously. We believe that we should never stop learning and strongly believe in continued professional development. “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” — Maya Angelou. "Breeding for Versatility, Soundness and Type" Est. 2004

For the LOVE of Belgians . . . Our goal is to breed Belgians that will be loving family members, perform in the many disciplines of dogs sports and do well in the showring. Yes we want to breed Belgians that 'can do it all' and are more than just a pretty face, while never compromising health, type or temperament. Every dog we own and show, that is over 18 months, has basic obedience, agility, scentwork and herding training. All our dogs compete in at least one dog sport and gain titles outside of the show ring. Our Belgians are family members that live in our home and absolutely love the variety they have in their lives from bush walks, beach walks to training alone or with our local club, to competitions and meeting up with other dogs for social catch-ups. Our dogs are tested for hips, elbows, eyes and have their full DNA profiled. We are proudly a small kennel with over 60 years combined experience in Belgians, primarily in agility and showing. Breeding selectively our matings are planned well in advance, after a lot of research. We work with overseas breeders to bring the best quality Belgians to Australia to help expand the gene pool here. We have two imported females and are excited about our new male who will arrive late 2023 from Europe. If you are thinking about a Belgian we would love to have a chat even if we dont have any puppies available and encourage you to look at our webpage or join our FB group https://www.facebook.com/groups/465454384472512/?ref=s
