In the early 70's Colleen Krause-Sydow of Quom Afghans moved on from being just an exhibitor to a small but discerning breeder.
Now the Quom type is acknowledged worldwide even though the litters bred over the decades are minimal, in ratio to prominence Quom Afghans feature in many pedigrees of top winners even if they do not carry the Quom kennel name. 1979 was too early for a small breeder to reach their pinnacle but Best In Show Sydney Royal under the esteemed Annie Rogers Clark USA, with a bred owned and handled dog was indeed a "climax". The best was still to come....that Afghan, Ch Quom Star Spangld Banner, "Dallas" was to become a legend in his own lifetime as a producer. "Dallas" is still to this day Australia's greatest homebred Champion Afghan producer with 50 (individual) champions worldwide with too many added titles to record! Plus 20 additional BIS winners..........all with little advertising and limited showing. In 1980's my new husband Adam Khoury became my right hand man at Quom with the help our daughters Alexis and Siobhan, and since then we have added Greyhounds and Pugs to our show team.

Pups were born on 6 September, will have vet visit at 6 weeks for health checkup, first vaccination, microchipping, & a fit to fly certificate; being necessary for pup to fly. After which, pup will be available for collection, delivery or flight. Pups will not be allowed to depart our home until after they are 10 weeks of age. During this time if you are located reasonably close, visits can be organised, but if not, you will receive regular photos, videos & updates.
I require a non-refundable deposit of $1000 to secure & hold your chosen pup. On receiving vet all clear after first vaccination the remaining amount is to be paid within 3 weeks as to have full payment 1 week prior to leaving & second C3 vaccination. Once deposit has been paid you are welcome & encouraged to to name your pup. I will treat puppy with Drontol fortnightly for worms & with Frontline weekly for ticks & fleas from 2 weeks of age. They come fully weaned; eating wet & dry solids with a small puppy pack to help them settle. I will start toilet training on fake & real grass & would have started basic puppy training with walking on a lead, ‘come’ and ‘sit’.
Full breed profiles and DNA clarification have been completed on parents by Orivet and they are clear of all current know dachshund diseases. Pups and parents are available viewing in public location.
