Merlin with his lovable personality took the world in his stride. He enjoyed his shows as well as going out in the field with Trevor. He had a great result at his first show - BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW under GSP Specialist Judge, Mrs. Carolyn Butler. He also won 3 BEST BABY PUPPY IN GROUPs, 3 BEST MINOR PUPPY IN GROUPs, 3 BEST PUPPY IN GROUPs, 3 BEST JUNIOR IN GROUPs, 1 BEST INTERMEDIATE IN GROUP, 1 BEST STATE BRED IN GROUP, 3 BEST AUSTRALIAN BRED IN GROUPs, 1 BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW and 1 RUNNER-UP TO BEST IN GROUP. He gained the last points for his AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP Title on 18.2.17, at 9 and a half months. He was successful at the GSP NATIONAL SHOW in 2017 under Judge Zlatko Jojkic (Serbia) being awarded 1st PLACE in the Junior Dog Class and OPPOSITE SEX JUNIOR IN SHOW. Merlin also won BEST OF BREED at the Royal Queensland Show (the Ekka) 2018. He backed that up with DOG CHALLENGE, RUNNER-UP TO BEST OF BREED, and BEST AUSTRALIAN BRED IN GROUP under Mr. J Walsh Jnr (Ireland) at the Royal Queensland Show, 2019. Merlin gained his GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP in Show, and in his athletic style, competed in Lure Coursing with great enthusiasm under the guidance of Ann-Marie Boyd. He achieved the JUNIOR COURSER/COURSING ABILITY Titles as well as completing the ENDURANCE TEST in 2019. After retirement, he enjoyed a very happy life. We lost Merlin after a sudden and short illness way too soon. We cherish the special memories. He rests peacefully now, and his spirit flies high.
