Dual CH (F) Dawsons Biff Bangabird

Biff Bangabird Australia's first GWP Dual Champion: trained and handled by Geoff Oakes, he was a winner of several field trials and an South Australian field trial Championship, a foundation sire for the Ostoja Kennels. Biffy obtained his conformation title in 1981 ( competing at the highest levels at Adelaide and Melbourne Royal shows ) and gaining his field trial title in May 1983 giving him his Dual Championship. Now as Australia's inaugral Australian Dual Champion Biffy as he was called still competed in field trials and two retrieving trials, which he also won, he continued working as a roughshooting dog, hunting game in all the Eastern States, South Australia and Western Australia. He worked with Geoff until he was a nine year old, retired from the hunting scene as a house dog, and passed away in 1991; he left some outstanding sons and daughters. These dominant working lines have been carried down through the generations at Ostoja, and with the gene pool now available to us and especially from our latest UK imports the harsh wiry coat are a strong feature of our dogs giving good protection when working in the field and in the water, and are an improvement on some of the earlier GWP,s so that now hunters can be assured this, together with the natural working traits of the breed at Ostoja, pups sold by us to hunters are proving to be as strong a worker today, as ever.
