Although my heart breeds since joining the pedigree dog world in 1993 with my first Border Collie and of course the Australian Shepherd in 1997, I have had a few different breeds in my backyard so to speak including a Hungarian Puli, a Chinese Crested and even an Australian Cattle Dog!!! Over the years I have handled many breeds in the ring, but one breed I have a lot of involvement at show level and as well as taking thousands of photos of is the Welsh Corgi Pembroke… I have handled these guys at shows since about 1999 including nationals held in Brisbane to Royals to specialties, and lots of shows. Ive always had a soft spot for them and in the process have made some wonderful friends over the years. One of these is Gloria Woodward of Aberlee Corgis. Gloria has been my mentor and close friend over the years and I have learnt much from her that not only pertain to Corgis but also my own working breeds. A few weeks ago I was nominated as the driver to go and visit some puppies bred by Shelley McCammon whose corgis are all Aberlee bloodlines. Imagine my surprise when I laid eyes on this little dude and it was love at first sight! So a few weeks later we introduce Reuben to our family! Out of Ch Aberlee French Connection and Ch Idelia NoLonger Waiting for Love, his pedigree is a blend of some wonderful corgis that I have loved over the years including Mason – Sup Ch Aberlee Take it To the Limit. There are some wonderful bloodlines in his pedigree including the well known Merthyr from NZ and a nice blend of some wonderful French and American bloodlines as well.
