AUST CH Sugargum Texas Cowboy CD ADX JD ET HIT
At the age of 16, I saw an advert on the back page of Vic Dogs for the first Australian Shepherd US imports "Jazzy" and "Chance", there began my Aussie Obsession. I was lucky enough to add a boy from their litter to our family. Thank you to Robyn Sutcliffe and Les Mathieson for trusting me and mentoring me at such a young age. Dakota my first Aussie was beautiful and intelligent and stoic, but also soft natured. He taught me about patience and introduced me to the art of positive reinforcement training, for which i will always be grateful to him. He was my shadow about the house and then my mothers when i was not home. She would always say to him in passing "Ohh you would make a beautiful rug". Dakota was the typical aloof Aussie and did not have much time for anyone outside my immediate family, until i met my husband to be years later and Dakota amazingly took to him. Always trust your dog! Some of Dakotas career highlights include Most Versatile Aussie 1999 and 2002 and Dog Challenge at the Royal Melb Show 2001. Dakota will never be forgotten in our family and lives on with us in his great grandaughter Phoenix. 1995 - 2007
