The prefix "Gunwise" came from wanting to always breed true gundogs wisely! Over the years I have become a breed historian wanting to learn as much about my beloved breed as possible. My "hero and mentor" through his wonderful books, is the late great Mr H.S.Lloyd, the wizard of Ware and the grandmaster of all dog breeders! So I love the oldfashioned true "GUNDOG" type, not the modern "Generic show dog" type. There have been many great dogs bred and kept at Gunwise.
