We purchased our first Rhodesian Ridgeback 'Jera' in 1992 and quickly fell in love with her and this very loyal breed in general. Jera was our foundation bitch and had her first litter in 1995. That was the start of a long journey under the 'Sahwira' prefix. We have always bred for good temperament and conformation. We have bred, loved and owned many champions. Our dogs have always been well socialised and obedience trained and have been a big part of family life and loved by all. Many of our Ridgebacks have found their forever homes with families with children who love them dearly. All of our breeding stock are xrayed and DNA tested. Shangoridge is a small select kennel located in the Upper Murray in North EastVictoria. Only breeding occasionally our puppies are raised in a rural family home environment socialized with both children and adults along with other family pets/ livestock. We are a select small kennel in South Australia, home to both brown and black nose Ridgebacks. When choosing a Ridgeback as a companion, we believe temperament and soundness are most important. Isilwane Kennels was est 1986, based on Ujamaa (Vic) bloodlines, I then went on to successfully incorporate bloodlines from Camelot Kennels (USA) and in turn sent dogs over there that contributed to their successful breeding programme too. We have been resident in Victoria, Tasmania, out of Canberra in Bungendore and now back in Victoria. I am strongly committed to breeding functional, well balanced Ridgebacks and put six generations of dogs through Endurance Trials over the years. We are excited to announce Oreo’s chocolate litter born 10 December 2024. We have 7 males and 3 females available for their forever homes. These puppies will be raised in a loving family home. They will have heaps of cuddles and human interaction from birth, including with children and other dogs.
