Breeders of Welsh Springer Spaniels since 1989 at Laugharne Kennels we believe we are not so much a kennel but a "tapestry" and every dog and owner is a precious thread in their own right. We have added new threads to our breeding "tapestry" by importing semen from Sweden and Finland and more recently importing Oliver from the UK. Our aim is to breed healthy dogs with good temperaments whilst remaining faithful to the breed standard. All our dogs are hip and elbow scored and eye tested we also complete DNA health testing on all breeding dogs. Puppies are raised in our home with all our dogs being house dogs. We are proud that not only do we have many Australian Show Champions we also have dogs titled in obedience, agility, tracking, endurance and scent work. Enquiries welcome.

We have been involved in the Dog World for the past 28 years. I started out with Obedience then Tracking and Conformation, first with Rough Coat Collies, Coolies and then with German Spitz. I then had a break to have children before I found what for us is the perfect breed, and that is the Welsh Springer Spaniel. I can't see us ever having anything else as a breed. They are a joy to have part of the family. Great with children and ready for any active family. They are a gorgeous looking, active, intelligent breed with quite an easy coat to care for with minimal trimming. Being active and smart they need a daily walk and run and an activity to occupy their brains, then they are happy to chill out with you at home. Being medium size, clean and people orientated they are perfect to join in with all your family activities. Caring about the breed as we do, all our Welshies are health tested before being selectively bred so as to maintain the health of and improve the breed. Puppies come raised with love in the family and are Vaccinated, Microchipped and Vet Health checked.

We are so excited for our next litter. Our gorgeous Nova has been confirmed in whelp with puppies due mid Janaury. Nova is a very pretty girl with lovely black and orange colouring and a beautiful character. She loves nothing more than spending time with her people. She gets on great with people and dogs. Nova has had an amazing show career, with her main highlight being awarded a National Silver Medal. She has been awarded runner up best in show, class in shows and many best of breeds both in all breeds and specialty. She was also graded excellent merit on several occasions. Nova has impeccable breeding with her Dam being Gold, Silver and Bronze National Medalist Ch Eroica Duchess Of York TD RN AZ BSCL1. Fergie is a top show dog as well as a top obedience dog with obtaining her tracking title and Rally Novice Title. Nova's Sire Is V (BSZS) Hornet Box-Dogs KKL IPO2. We were lucky enough to meet Hornet in germany and he was a very calm and friendly dog. Maerceci German Shepherd Dogs is proud to be able to offer a limited number of long stock haired males from their latest litter. This will be our last litter for at least 1-2 years and thus an opportunity to acquire a puppy from such a unique pairing.
