We are a small Kennel in the Hunter Valley region of NSW. Glenmurry concentrates on Showing our beautiful Shelties, and we base our breeding on the reknown Beauideal lines.

We have been involved in this delightful breed for over 30 years. We have bred champions in all three colours - Blue Merle, Sable and Tricolour. Our shelties have been noticed throughout Australia, Singapore and the UK. We only breed when we are looking for an upcoming show puppy. Our babies are well socialised, they don't live in kennels and are much a very much apart of our family.

Owner, breeder & exhibitor of multi BIS's & BISS's including National Specialty BIS. My daughter, Veronica, & I have imported Shelties bringing in valuable lines from UK, USA & Canadian into Australia to further enhance the gene pool here & have met with "great" success. I’ve also imported semen from Sweden & Germany to further improve lines in Australia. Beauideal - for type, soundness & temperament. I am an International All Breeds judge & love nothing more than evaluating & awarding dogs of high merit both in Australia & overseas As with all Shelties Bred, Owned and Residing in Australia my beautiful Shelties are judged and bred to the UK standard as it is the only applicable standard for the breed in Australia.

All dogs campaigned are winners at the upper lever of competition, a testament to their correct type, sound body and temperament. All my dogs have been ACES eye tested as having normal eyes and unaffected CEA/CH, adults are rechecked by an ACES ophthalmologist. All current dogs are genetically clear of all DNA conditions tested for except 1 dog being a carrier of CEA/CH, all are genetically clear of MDR1, DM, PRA, VWDIII, GBM etc. Shelties at Deerod have won Best in Show awards at both Specialist & All Breeds level for almost 50 years. All puppies are CEA/PRA tested and adults DNA tested.
