We got our first Samoyed in 1978 just after I saw a Sammy for the first time, first as pets, then we started to show and breed, but always they are our pets or more to the point, part of our family. It is very rare to see me in a car without a Sammy with me, I have one as a companion pretty much everywhere I go. We aim to breed our Samoyeds to the English standard, coats and heads are very important to us, a Sammy must firstly look like a Sammy. Our puppies are brought up inside our house so they are part of the family from the day they open their eyes. Our Sammies are house dogs, part of the family. We find we do not have to spend much time at all to keep our dogs coats in top condition, even though we live on a rural property. Showing is hard for us these days with business commitments but aim to get the babies out to socialize them when we can.

Sunnburst Samoyeds is a new kennel established in 2021 but have had Samoyeds since 2017. We are based in Geelong, Victoria. Our Samoyeds come from Snerzok Samoyeds and I am very lucky to have their dogs and support in breeding this stunning breed. We strive to breed sound and beautiful Samoyeds who have the amazing Samoyed personality and temperament. Our puppies are raised in our family home with my toddler so are exposed to young kids. We also have a grumpy cat puppies get to encounter as well. We believe that Samoyeds are not just a pretty face and should still be able to achieve what they were originally bred for. Our Samoyeds are athletic and compete in sports as well as conformation shows. My male is an Australian Champion and both the dogs have their first lure coursing title. Both parents have fantastic health results and all puppies from this litter will be health tested prior to leaving for their forever homes, including Aces Eye Test, Bile Acid Test and DNA profiled. They are also vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped and wormed. Copies of all health tests are provided to new owners. Our aim is to breed happy, healthy long-living dogs that are of sound mind and body. Puppies will be raised in our home following the Puppy Culture protocols. This comprehensive socialisation and training program is based on the premise that ‘the puppy always leads the learning and puppies learn best by appropriate experiences at the appropriate time’. They are raised on a premium diet, wormed regularly, and will have started toilet training. Puppies go to their new homes vaccinated, microchipped and health checked, and come with a generous puppy pack, puppy booklet, and ongoing support. We have a lovely boy who unfortunately will be retiring from the show ring. He is gentle and sweet, very loving and a real snuggler. He has lived both inside and outside, happy with either, although does love his air-con on a hot day. He is so full of personality that he makes us laugh at him regularly, especially since he will always have a toy in his mouth - often stolen off one of his friends. If you have a desire to have your life (and couch) taken over by a bundle of love, let us know. He will be desexed before leaving.
