Isilwane Kennels was est 1986, based on Ujamaa (Vic) bloodlines, I then went on to successfully incorporate bloodlines from Camelot Kennels (USA) and in turn sent dogs over there that contributed to their successful breeding programme too. We have been resident in Victoria, Tasmania, out of Canberra in Bungendore and now back in Victoria. I am strongly committed to breeding functional, well balanced Ridgebacks and put six generations of dogs through Endurance Trials over the years. Hip & Elbow scoring & DNA testing is carried out on all our breeding stock. AT ISILWANE KENNELS WE BREED RIDGEBACKS - NOT DOGS (and we also own wicked whippets).

We purchased our first Rhodesian Ridgeback 'Jera' in 1992 and quickly fell in love with her and this very loyal breed in general. Jera was our foundation bitch and had her first litter in 1995. That was the start of a long journey under the 'Sahwira' prefix. We have always bred for good temperament and conformation. We have bred, loved and owned many champions. Our dogs have always been well socialised and obedience trained and have been a big part of family life and loved by all. Many of our Ridgebacks have found their forever homes with families with children who love them dearly. All of our breeding stock are xrayed and DNA tested. We started out as a family with enormous passion to learn and develop our lines to be the best we possibly could. We breed only the highest quality Rhodesian Ridgeback pups for not only temperament but breed characteristics. With small children ourselves we select only the best natured breeding pairs thats will produce pups that are not highly strung but great all round family dogs that we would have no issues recommending them to our freinds and family. We understand how exciting but also challenging it can be not only bringing home the perfect new life companion but choosing the breeder who you connect with and trust. When we first started out this was the hardest bit we found getting open communication with a breeder that was willing to share there blood lines and give us an opportunity to grow our passion for the breed We will respond to all enquiries in a timely manner. Adding a Spontanfin pup to your family is a big decision so we are happy to work with you through the excitement that goes with the decision of adding a pup to your family. We offer life time on going support and advise to all our puppy owners. Our breeding dogs have had there hips and elbows scored as well as having all breed required tests. We are able to assist in interstate transfer if needed.

Breeding for Type, Temperament and Soundness since 1995. We have been Showing and Breeding Rhodesian Ridgebacks for 30 years, producing multiple Champions, Grand Champions, Best in Show and Best in Specialty Show winners. In saying that, our dogs are a loved part of our family first and foremost. They have stolen not just our couches and our bed, but our hearts. At Otesha Rhodesian Ridgebacks, we don't have time to build commercial looking websites, because when we aren't working to support our dogs we are spending time with them, they're our fur-family. We don't have a regular abundance of puppies, as we are not running a kennel, our dogs are our loved pets. However when we do breed, all our Ridgebacks are x-rayed and scored for Hip & Elbow Dysplasia prior to the breeding taking place. They are also DNA tested for Degenerative Myelopathy (Clear) & JME (Clear). Our puppies live inside our house where they learn to be part of the family and leave our home vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and come with an 18kg bag of food, bowl, collar & lead, bed, cuddle teddy, toys, treats, worming tablet and an information booklet. More importantly you receive true lifetime support which includes phone, message and email support, and free training sessions for anyone who lives within an hour travel, or is willing to travel to us. We are super excited to announce the arrival of our litter of Rhodesian Ridgebacks on December 12th 2024 - 10girls and 2 boys! Both parents have been x-rayed and scored for Hip & Elbow Dysplasia, and do not carry Degenerative Myelopathy or JME. Puppies ready to go to their new homes from 8/2/2025. Both parents have exceptional temperaments, and are both family and show dogs.

This is a special litter with frozen imported semen and we can't wait to welcome the puppies into the world. My puppies are lovingly raised inside my home, not in a kennel environment, and I offer lifetime support and free training. Pups go to their homes with a bag of food, bowl, collar and lead, bed, cuddle teddy, toys, treats, worming tablet and information booklet. Also included is 4 weeks free pet insurance. They will be vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, and wormed fortnightly, and will be Registered with Dogs Victoria. Ivy is a brown nose RR and through no fault of hers is available for a companion home. She is desexed, registered, microchipped and vaccinated.
