Capebass has been established for many years, but we have owned Newfoundlands since 1975.Capebass strives to breed quality, sound Newfoundlands. To improve our lines we have imported semen and dogs from overseas countries such as Hungry, USA and England. We are committed to breeding quality Newfoundlands, by using such lines as to assist our own. Out of the litters I've bred I've produced a best in show winner who also won the group at Adelaide Royal, I have also owned a bitch that won best opposite sex at our Newfoundland Championship show, twice. Her daughter went on to win a best in show at our breed open show, Bitch challenge at Melbourne royal and now her pups have gone on to win in group and in show awards all three of which were titled at a young age. We are home to 1 Home bred Grand Champion Jack- GR CH, Capebass Wish upon Astar and we have successfully successfully shown our Polish import Cezar - GR CH Cezar Cancrimo to his Grand champion title We are also proud to be the breeders of the first International champion (FCI) in Australia. Baywatch Newfoundlands is a small breeding kennel where we aim to breed for soundness and breed type and the sweet Newfie temperament everyone loves. All of our dogs that we intend to breed from are health tested for hip and elbow dysplasia. We also screen for cystinuria along with heart echocardiogram. In 2017 we moved our dogs and breeding program from New Zealand to Victoria and have successfully registered our kennel prefix with Dogs Victoria and our team of young girls are enjoying participating in conformation showing. July 2022 we moved our home and kennels to SE QLD where we hope to educate more families on the wonderful virtues of the breed we love. Puppies are sometimes available, we welcome visitors and those interested in owning a puppy bred by us to visit and meet us and our dogs (by appointment only) An application form can be provided to those interested in being considered for a Baywatch puppy. New owners can expect to be welcomed into a community of other very supportive Baywatch Newfoundland owners, owner education is high on our list of priorities and ongoing support is always offered.
