We have been owned and loved by Rhodesian Ridgebacks for thirty years. They are first and foremost our loved family companions and we thoroughly enjoy so many of the wonderful traits of the Rhodesian Ridgeback.
We have owned and loved Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1984. Starting with our first rescue Ridgeback on our honeymoon. We quickly followed on with our first show female and have show and occasionally bred since then. We are not a large scale breeder. Temperament is just as important as all other traits in a ridgeback so getting the right breeding pair is essential.
Our breeding pair have been hip and elbow scored, DNA tested and are both Australian champions from two of the most successful breeders in Australia.
The temperament of our ridgeback is amazing and hopefully in the near future we can pass that onto their offspring.

We are situated in the Bay of Plenty, at the bottom of the Kaimai ranges. It is here we live on 5 acres of grounds with our dogs.
Breeding true to type, sound Ridgebacks with great temperaments is our main aim as well as enjoying the show dog scene.
All dogs used in my breeding program have been hip and elbow scored for dysplasia, DNA tested for DM, JME, the Dilute (blue) gene and more.
I pride my self on the time & effort that goes in to finding the right breeding lines, temperament and dogs to compliment my females. I have imported three males and a female all from well respected breeders or specialty judges for the breed. I also import frozen semen to offer myself and others a fantastic family pet or show dog.
Dogs I have bred are active in Agility, Rally-o, obedience and the show scene.
All puppies are socialised with our family and of course our other dogs and friends that visit.
Your new puppy will come with:
1st health check & vaccination. (including checks for Dermoid Sinus)
Wormed every 2 weeks from 2 weeks of age.
4 weeks pet insurance.
Pedigree papers from the NZKC (endorsements may apply)
A puppy booklet including info on the parents and how to care for your new addition.
Collar or blanket.
Food that the puppy is eating with me at the time.
Lifetime support from me as the breeder.

Ujamaa kennels- breeders of champions and companions since 1978. We have owned or bred over 40 Champions, but show rarely these days. Our primary objective is to breed sound companions- to do this we source the best stud dogs for our girls- most recently travelling to Crufts in the UK and the World Dog show in Croatia to find the best. Our current companions are Aust Ch Ujamaa Alessandra Facchinetti (Allie) and Ujamaa Winx, daughter of Int Ch Vizara Jukati and Allie.
I have a particular interest in genetic diseases and dogs we breed with are routinely screened for sound hips, elbows and degenerative myelopathy (DM). Some lines are also screened for cardiac issues by ultrasound and/or hypothyroidism.
We also work with Cat Glenn and family- they are owned by Zuri and Rosie. Fran Parsons and her pack are also in "the family"

We have owned and loved this breed for over 22 years.
We are a small kennel situated approximately 1 hour north of Albany, 3-4 hours south of Perth.
Our dogs have been raised on our farm with our animals and children, and are very much a part of the family.
We breed for temperament and soundness, and our dogs are fully health tested.
