Sabelia is home to beautiful papillons who are from the creme of Australian, American, European & Scandinavian Bloodlines. We have been involved in the breed for 8 years, & our dogs live as loved members of the family in our home. They like to cuddle up on the lounge, take turns sleeping on the bed, going for walks & exploring our acreage! Breeding for both physical and mental soundness, temperament, health & breed type. We conduct DNA testing through Orivet & will only breed with DNA tested dogs. We’ve had several imports from America, Russia, Germany, The Netherlands & Sweden - genetic diversity is very important to us, as is procuring dogs of the type and temperament that fits into our ideals & will best suit our goals. This beautiful Baroque silky-coated companion originated, as shown in Old Master's work, in Spain.

These dainty, affectionate little beauties were gifted within Europe's Royal courts & graced the laps of European aristocrats.
Papillons & Phalènes underwent breed consolidation in the 1500s due to French & Belgian breeders, giving us these enchanting yet robust little dogs. Internationally named Continental Toy Spaniels, they come in many beautifully shaded silky coats with Papillons exhibiting characteristic heavily fringed butterfly shaped ears. Littermates with low-set ears look more like the wings of a moth, hence the name Phalène.

We are committed to breeding from old lines dating back to the 1800s to maintain the closeness with history & culture.

I have been showing Papillons since late 2013 and came to the sport via obedience and trialling. I wanted to join my friends in the show ring and was looking for a dog that was small and easy to train. Papillons are the smartest dogs in the toy group and ranked about 8th overall. Their small size, good looks, sassy and happy outgoing disposition make them a perfect companion and they are ideal for smaller spaces as well as being dazzling little pocket rockets in the ring.

All my dogs are DNA tested.

All puppies from Sabelia Papillons come with 2 vaccinations (C3 & C5) current health check, microchip & an extensive puppy pack with everything you need to settle your puppy into your home! Puppies will be on limited register with DogsSA not for breeding or showing but if new owner was inclined to do performance sport with their new puppy that would be a possibility. Main registration by negotiation once they have been evaluated at 8 weeks of age. Companion puppies receive a vasectomy prior to going to new homes which satisfies dog & cat management & local council requirements for desexing while keeping hormones intact for proper growth and maturity! They are raised with Puppy Culture protocols, which will help to shape them into well adjusted, even tempered & happy adults.
