This european breed is an earlier type of the modern day Newfoundland, harking back to the days of the breed when it was immortalised by the painter Sir Edwin Landseer. It is generally taller, slimmer, sportier and its striking long coat is more wash and wear than its modern Newfoundland cousin. I have imported bloodlines from the Netherlands and Denmark and only use health tested stock (eyes, hips and elbows, temperament, and Landseer ECT specific DNA genetic diseases as identified by Laboklin in Germany).Please contact me if you think you might be the right home for this unique and beautiful breed.

The rest of the litter has already found new homes. They are currently 3 weeks old and will be available to go to their new homes from the 29th Jan 2025 Puppies have had a vaccination, are registered with Dogs NSW, microchipped and come with an extensive puppy pack, training information, 2 months free pet insurance. All of my Lappies of breeding age are DNA tested and have hip and elbow scores as well as eye testing done before breeding, a copy of this comes with your puppy pack. Deerlane Finnish Lapphunds is expecting our “Critter Litter” of little Love-Bugs due February 2025. Parents-to-be are Ariana (Tundrai Bear To Bee Sweet JC) & Kailo (American Grand Ch Alnopa Ukonvasara IMP USA). Parents are health tested for breed relevant diseases (DNA, CHEDS Hip & Elbow scored, ACES eye cleared, cardiologist cleared). Colours expected are Wolf Sable & Brown Wolf Sable only. Price approx $4000. We are open to pet, sports & show/breeding homes. Ariana is an affectionate girl who excels in sports/herding. Kailo is a stunning dog imported from Norway (via the USA). He’s a big cuddle bug, has moderate drive & a “look at me” personality. Both are food driven & social with people/dogs/cats. Whilst Lapphunds may look like teddy-bears, it’s important to remember they’re a working breed. From this combination I expect friendly, cuddly puppies with a natural herding instinct, intelligence, moderate drive & good trainability. Here at Deerlane our dogs are first and foremost family. They are raised and live in my home (on my couch). Puppies aren’t available often as I only breed when I have the time & resources to give them the best possible start at life. We do not have staff or the resources to hold “open days” like a commercial kennel as this is my home, but do encourage those looking for a puppy to meet us & get to know our dogs. Theldaroy is a foundation lapphund breeder in Australia. We have been breeding them since 2001 and at present have the rare litters. I have not had a litter for some years and usually only a couple per annum. We believe that quality is of paramount importance. I have done an insemination with Aarre to Moska. I am truly excited with this planned litter. I will be expecting black and tan pups. Due mid Feb to go to ne home around Easter.
