The Lagotto Romagnolo is a small/medium curly coated gun dog originating from Italy. The breed can be traced back several hundred years and is the foundation dog to all water dogs such as Poodles, Portuguese Water Dogs, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retrievers to name but a few. The breed is not well known in NZ and is often mistaken as a spoodle (gasp). Our dogs are raised on a beautiful life style block in the Wairarapa. We adhere to Dogs New Zealand Breeders Code of Conduct. We have health tests performed on our breeding stock as recommended by the New Zealand Lagotto Romagnolo Club. Because my passion is dog sports, breeding for temperament is of paramount importance to me. I am a trainer at my local dog club and compete in obedience and Rally O. We are relatively new to this delightful breed, but not new to dogs, having successfully shown and bred for many years. Our first girl Sofi was such a joy to live with, we had to have another, so along came Gina and earlier this year we completed our rainbow family, when our striking boy Rommy joined us. All our dogs have had the relative health checks and live in the house as part of the family. I am a Family Dog Home breeder with this being my first litter. My dogs have excellent Lagotto characteristics and my girl is DNA tested and Vet checked. I have been a member of Dogs NSW and the Lagotto Club of NSW for 10 years plus. My dogs have been raised as pets but have participated in small agility and sell activities with the club. Their parents have all come from a prominant breeding kennel with great record. Although my Lagottos were never shown they are loving and faithful friends and Im sure the puppies will make wonderful pets or even show dogs if you enjoy that too.

Further health checks of our breeding dogs includes screening for Hip Dysplasia. We do everything possible to produce puppies with sound temperaments and confirmation and this has been factored into the selection of a suitable sire for these puppies. For this reason we also raise new born puppies in our home where they receive constant supervision, attention and interaction within a busy home. During the first weeks we focus on raising our puppies within a warm environment and commence neurological stimulation. Three of our lovely lagotto ladies decided to bless us with puppies before the end of the year and we have two puppies to find great homes for, both adorable little boys. Zelda's baby is cream with apricot markings. He's a sweet boy who loves to cuddle. Winnie's boy is shiny white with brown patches. He's a sturdy little thing with an outgoing personality. We have been blessed with some beautiful Lagotto Romagnolo, with excellent temperament, to start with them in the show ring! I am so happy with what we’ve achieved in our first few years with this breed ( we also have WHW Terriers) And now we finally have our own litter of little curly puppies from our amazing foundation bitch ‘Callie’. Born on Christmas Eve 2024. Callie is 3 and has had an exceptional career, becoming an Australian champion at 9 months, grand champion at 2 years and is also the first Lagotto to attain both her A2O and C.I.B titles!! She was Best in Show at the Lagotto Romagnolo breed specialty show, Sydney Royal in 2023 and has also won several Best in Groups, runner up Best in groups and Class in show awards. But the most important thing is that she is an absolute delight and wins hearts wherever she goes! Puppies sire ‘Ziggy’ JWW '23, EUJW'23 Aust Ch Bombadee Lucky Strike (IMP POL) arrived from Europe at the end of 2023 and also has an amazing, friendly temperament and a coat curl to to die for!
