OK, so maybe Miss Riffraff doesn't look like the average show dog. That's not because she doesn't scrub up a treat, but because we are much more interested in the fact that she's a fun dog who is great to live with. Riffraff turned fourteen in 2020 and is enjoying her retirement away from the hustle and bustle of our farm. We still have some of her granddaughters in our breeding program, though, as well as a few other lagottos we've collected along the way. We added Lagottos to our farmily because we wanted dogs that are not too big, friendly with the whole world, easy to care for and who love life. Our dogs are particularly fond of diving in water troughs, chasing butterflies and ducks, and curling up by the fire or under the computer desk at night. Exactly what we were looking for. Wispan is a small but dedicated kennel on the Sunshine Coast of Qld. I strive for excellence in my breeding by using sound stock of excellent temperament and type. I have been involved with this breed since 2009 and I am very fortunate that my foundation bitch came from Greydove Kennels and my dog from Kebro Kennels, both from imported lines. All my dogs are hip and elbow scored prior to breeding and litters are carefully planned. My dogs are companions first and foremost and showing is our hobby. Puppies are raised in our home and socialised with family and friends and adult dogs in preparation for their new families. Our standards are high, with the aim to breed healthy, sound dogs in mind and body while remaining true to type. Located in Echuca, Victoria. Newbies on the Lagotto block but thanks to some wonderful support and mentoring by Duoforza we could not be more passionate about this wonderful breed. We were drawn to the breed when looking for an old rounder dog that suited our busy, multiple kids household. We would looking for a dog that easy to train, loves being outside, swimming, running, loves attention, didn't drop hair around the house, the Lagotto ticked all of those boxes and so many more once we fell in love with the breed. We actively show our crew, with new comer baby Peach just hitting the ring. Our dogs are all DNA tested as well as hip and elbow scored. We will be having a litter in the coming months which will be lovingly raised with the help of all kids in the house. We do everything possible to produce puppies with sound temperaments and confirmation and this has been factored into the selection of a suitable sire for these puppies. Three of our lovely lagotto ladies decided to bless us with puppies before the end of the year and we have two puppies to find great homes for, both adorable little boys. Zelda's baby is cream with apricot markings. He's a sweet boy who loves to cuddle. Winnie's boy is shiny white with brown patches. He's a sturdy little thing with an outgoing personality. We have been blessed with some beautiful Lagotto Romagnolo, with excellent temperament, to start with them in the show ring! I am so happy with what we’ve achieved in our first few years with this breed ( we also have WHW Terriers) And now we finally have our own litter of little curly puppies from our amazing foundation bitch ‘Callie’. Born on Christmas Eve 2024. Callie is 3 and has had an exceptional career, becoming an Australian champion at 9 months, grand champion at 2 years and is also the first Lagotto to attain both her A2O and C.I.B titles!! She was Best in Show at the Lagotto Romagnolo breed specialty show, Sydney Royal in 2023 and has also won several Best in Groups, runner up Best in groups and Class in show awards. But the most important thing is that she is an absolute delight and wins hearts wherever she goes! Puppies sire ‘Ziggy’ JWW '23, EUJW'23 Aust Ch Bombadee Lucky Strike (IMP POL) arrived from Europe at the end of 2023 and also has an amazing, friendly temperament and a coat curl to to die for!
