Carlin Labradors is a little kennel based in the Wairarapa. Carlin is dedicated to producing Labradors that are of good health and temperament. All of our breeding dogs are health tested, including hip & elbow x-rays, DNA screening & eye examinations. All puppies are registered with Dogs New Zealand (formerly NZKC). Our dogs are much loved members of the family and a treasured part of our lives. They grow up in a family environment and our puppies are well socialised, ready to join their new families. 'Dana' Kennels established in 1974 started off with one working gundog and has grown from there in the early days we had a 7 acre lake on our farm ideal for Labradors. Over the years we have used imported bloodlines and shown our dogs to Championship level and beyond as well as maintaining the inherent working ability. We have had our dogs in the Kiwi recovery program, used by the Blind foundation, drug detection and working Gundogs as well as the loyal family companion to many families some of whom have had 3 of our Labradors over the years. We were fortunate that in the early years of showing and breeding to have help and advice from one of the greats of the Labrador World in Nell and Tom Jobey of Te Reinga Kennels. We were one of the first Kennels to do the hip and elbow testing in NZ and have carried on to do all the tests we can to continue to breed sound happy Labrador puppies that confirm to the standard of broad and strong. Breeding & exhibiting top quality Black, Chocolate & Yellow Labradors that excell in Temperament,Type & Soundness. We have Champion Labradors in NZ, Australia, Japan, Russia, Canada and the USA etc. We have also supplied breeding stock to Guide Dog and Service Dog schools around the world. All Stock Hip/Elbow scored, EIC & GPRA tested, & have Clear Eye Certificates. Imported & homebred dogs AT STUD to approved bitches.

Vitesse Labradors produce some of the best working Retrievers New Zealand has to offer. We import semen from top working lines from around the world, to help create dogs that are biddable, physically sound with exceptional natural working ability. We compete in Gundog Trials and have multiple National Champions, Field Trial Champions and Grand Field Trial Champions in our kennel, as well as holding multiple New Zealand Gundog Trialling Association, Gundog Of The Year and Retriever Of The Year Titles. We are proud to currently have the NZGTA National All Breeds Championship Winner 2021, 2023, 2024. The NZGTA National Retriever Championship Winner 2020, 2023, 2024. The NZGTA Retriever Of The Year 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The All Breeds Dog of the Year 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and The Gundog Of The Year 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 within our kennel. Our dogs are all fully health tested, including hip and elbow scores, yearly eye certificates and full genetic screens, with great results. We produce dogs for hunters, competition and family pets. They are calm and kind, have great style and pace in the field, with beautiful temperaments, a pleasure to be around.

I am proud to have taken over the Sykesville Kennel name after the passing of my grandfather, who established this kennel name in 1973. My grandfathers passion was producing labradors with a strong retrieve drive and the ability to work all day, as well as being loyal family pets. My Grandfather bred a FTCH which was a big achievement for him. I hope to carry on his legacy and will continue to breed true to type Labrador Retrievers. My aim is to create the ultimate dual purpose Labrador, one that is out retrieving during the day and laying by the fire with the kids at night. The ultimate goal for us is to provide families with a Labrador that is sound in body and mind. Health and temperament is forefront of our breeding decisions. Our dogs are given the best lives possible, we live on a sheep & beef farm in north Taranaki. Our dogs live a active lifestyle and are used to retrieve game birds and possums. We have only one puppy available from our last litter, which was superb, out of a Champion mum (imported from Australia) and sired by semen imported from a Finnish dog. "Bob" is a beautiful yellow Labrador boy who has just turned 10 weeks old and is ready for his forever home. From a top quality litter he is vaccinated and microchipped, and will be registered with Dogs NZ (so will come with papers endorsed "not to be bred from"). We are pleased to announce that Phoebe has had a litter of 9 puppies, whelped on the 22nd of October. The available puppies are a yellow male, a black male, and a black female. The dam and sire are health tested (with good results). This includes hip and elbow scores, annual eye certificates, and full DNA testing. Copies of these health test results are available if requested, and copies given to all new owners. Puppies are registered with DogsNZ (formerly NZKC) in their new owner's name. We choose families for our puppies based on their knowledge of Labrador needs, and the home and love they can provide. We are proud of our puppies, and open to discussions about removing some breeding restrictions for informed labrador breeders. These puppies will be ready for their new homes on the 17th of December. Please note that we never sell puppies as Christmas presents (never - no exceptions). Please also be aware that there will be an extra daily charge for puppies when we are asked to look after them after the 26th of December.
