Labrador Silver Coat Colour Warning - The National Labrador Retriever Breed Council (Australia) has issued a position statement for the Silver (or Platinum / Charcoal) Coat Colour. The Labrador only has 3 recognised colours - (Black, Yellow and Liver/Chocolate).

Our Labradors live as one big happy family on 100 acres in the Hunter Valley of NSW, 2 hours north of Sydney.They have 2 kilometers of the Paterson River to swim in and lots of different types of terrain and bush to explore. We show our dogs when time permits and have been very successful, having bred more than 30 Australian Champions but first and foremost our dogs are part of our family and their happiness is more important to us than any show success.
We have been breeding our Labs since 1979 and have many generations of consistently beautiful Labs (especially beautiful faces) with great temperaments, soundness and good breed type. We have hip and elbow scored from our first litter (with excellent results) and DNA tested for PRA and EIC since the tests first became available. Our puppies are raised in the house for at least the first 6 weeks.
Some of the dogs we have bred have become Guide Dogs, Assistance Dogs and Therapy dogs and our puppies have appeared in various TV commercials, such as Kleenex ones.
We really enjoy our puppy clients keeping in touch with us and hearing of the happiness that our Labs bring to their families.

NATIVEWOOD is located in the Hunter Valley in Clarence Town which is situated on the Williams River(Just two and a half hours drive from Sydney).

We are situated on a beautiful acreage and our dogs get to run each day. .... They love it!

Our dogs are based on international bloodlines from many parts of the world and include working lines to give them the mindset for working with people who require their assistance. We are striving to improve our bloodlines through the use of top international genetics. Our breeding bitches are mostly chocolate but we also have black and yellow.

We also have beautiful stud dogs that live with us and are available to selected outside bitches.

Our goal is to breed beautiful, intelligent, healthy and happy labs that can help people as PTSD, anxiety, or for kids with asphergers etc. These same attributes also make them great pets.
