At Awildian Irish Terriers, we love our wirehaired little pack. Our dogs are well-adjusted to family life and we have found them to be a willing and loyal breed. The Irish is one of the oldest breeds of terrier and originates from rural life in Ireland. Due to its loyalty and courage the Irish became popular at the turn of last century and was known as the “gentleman’s dog.” These are the traits that this breed is still known for today. Awildian maintain both looks and temperament in our dogs and are dedicated to upholding the integrity of the breed in Australia. Our dogs have plenty of ‘pluck’ as terriers do. They equally love companionship of an evening, curled up at your feet, calm & relaxed. We live approximately halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide in a small rural town. I have been involved with Irish Terriers for nearly 20 years and think they are the most wonderful breed ever! They are an energetic, fun loving dog that love people's company, especially children. They love to exercise and play but also can be quite content just laying in the sun. They are a healthy breed with a weatherproof coat and can live indoors or out. They have a gentle nature but are true Terriers when the situation warrants it. My pups are house raised and come from parents with wonderful natures. I have been quite successful with showing my dogs, winning Melbourne Royal with 3 of them. My dog, D'arcy is Australia's First Supreme Champion of the breed and his nature makes him a wonderful ambassador for the breed. I am always happy to talk to anyone about these dogs.

We currently have a litter of tri colour puppies that will be ready to go into their new homes before Christmas. The cost of our puppies is $3.500 and that includes registration, immunisation, micro-chipping and vet check prior to departure. We take great pride in breeding sound dogs, and as a result of this have had major wins in most Australian states, with our Kennel name appearing on many winning dogs throughout this country and overseas, which is something we are very proud of. Our pedigrees are of the highest standard and quality, with blood lines including dogs imported from the United States of America, England, and Ireland, and many of our animals living overseas. Some of our more recent successes include winning Best In Show at the Basset Hound National Show held in Victoria in November 2023, Best in Show at both the Qld and NSW Basset Hound Club Championship shows as well as Best of Breed at both shows held at the Brisbane Royal in 2024.
