Originating in Ireland, one of the oldest breeds of terriers. Nicknamed the “daredevil,” it has earned the reputation of being adaptable, loyal, spirited, and recklessly courageous. It served as a messenger and sentinel dog in World War I, and it has been used to hunt and to retrieve game. The Irish terrier is a sturdily built dog with racier lines than those of other terriers. Its long, relatively narrow head is usually accented by a short beard. It stands about 18 inches (46 cm), weighs 15 to 20 kg, and is distinguished by its wiry golden-red to reddish brown coat.
They are an energetic, fun loving dog that loves people's company, especially children. They love to exercise and play but also can be quite content just lying in the sun. They are a healthy breed with a weatherproof coat and can live indoors or out. They have a gentle nature but are true Terriers when the situation warrants it.

Our dogs are of top-winning Irish Terrier bloodlines that excel in the show ring as well as loving family pets with their love and loyalty.

This breed is like no other, they are smart and easily trainable, playful, energetic, loving, and gentle with the feistiness of the terrier in just the right size.

Our puppies are raised in a loving family environment, they are well socialised with children and other dogs. When leaving us they are microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, health checked, and come with a puppy starter pack.

We offer lifelong relationships with our puppy owners and provide advice and guidance be it training for dog shows, sports, or obedience.

Grá Mo Chroi in Gaelic means 'in my heart' or 'love of my heart'. As soon as you welcome an Irish Terrier into your life, you are bound to fall in love. My husband and I did, with our first Irish, Rufus, (from Roismar Kennels) back over a decade ago. When he left our lives, we were inspired to get more involved with the breed. Over the past few years I have been extremely fortunate to be mentored by Pam Gerrey from Tawnyoak, have got involved in dog shows (which was more fun than I thought). How to best describe what it’s like living with an Irish Terrier? They are loving but irrepressibly cheeky. They are energetic, but also enjoy a cuddle. They are mischievous and make you laugh every day. Anyone I have ever met who has owned an Irish always smile in delight at their memories of their dogs. They are the best dogs. Our dogs are part of the family, and all surplus funds from the pups go towards maintaining our herd of endangered Caspian Horses see:www.jasennastud.com. Our dogs have an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, with plenty of space to run & play. Pups are born & nurtured in our family room, so are well adjusted to household activity. From 5 weeks old they meet the outdoors with all its sights, sounds & smells, including cat, chooks, sheep&goats. This boosts their immune system & lets them gain far more life experience than pups raised solely inside.

We live as chemical free as possible & pups start their day with our our own fresh goats milk. Their lunch includes: steamed & raw veges, raw eggs, minerals, herbs & meat. Later dry food.

By the time they leave us they will have had vet checks, worming, microchipping, DNA test, & a myofunctional therapy session. Pups come with full papers, vet certificates, our extensive puppy notes, toy & blanket. All of our dogs are clear of at least 5 tested diseases & pups have DNA proof of parentage.
