All our dogs are hip and elbow xrayed and scored, DM tested, vWD tested and DNA tested before being used for breeding. We have no puppy plans until 2025 and we are unable to keep a waiting list. As we are only a small kennel who has puppies occasionally puppies will only be placed locally. Our dogs are first and foremost much loved pets who participate in the show ring and all are Australian Champions. All our dogs are hip and elbow scored as well as DNA & Degenerative Myelopathy tested and VWD clear. Our aim is to breed sound long lived healthy Bernese with exceptional temperaments.

Welcome to Abeleere Bernese. We fell in love with this breed in 2006 when Oscar - Abbiberne Mountain Nero - joined our family. Since then we have been hooked. A small kennel located on the Mornington Peninsula, our dogs are raised as part of our family. They sleep on the bed, on the couch and basically anywhere they want when they are not out roaming our beautiful 2.5 acres - purchased solely for their enjoyment. Bernese, unfortunately do not have a long lifespan so researching our genetic lines was extremely important to us when choosing our foundation dogs. Longevity, conformation and temperament are key in our decision making process. I am a fully qualified vet nurse and our Bernese are often the stars of our social media platform and adored by our clinic staff and clients. All dogs are tested for hip and elbow dysplasia, Von Willebrands Disease and Degenerative Myelopathy for both genes (SOD1A & SOD1B). Like all breeders, I only want the best homes for my dogs so be prepared to be asked lots of questions. At Cloudforest our aim is to produce strong, healthy and typical Bernese. Our dogs are family members who enjoy an active lifestyle on the mountain slopes of Tasmania. Cloudforest is home to multiple champions & Best In Show winning stock. Carol is an accredited to allbreeds judge. Our waiting lists are currently rather long, we suggest people looking for puppies should enquire in their own state, and be prepared to wait for the right puppy.

Continuing our committment to bring new genetics to the Australian Wheaten genepool, we are thrilled to announce that we have ultrasound confirmation of a healthy pregnancy for first time Mum "Smudge" and our new Import "Rollo". Puppies due the 3rd of March and going to homes anytime from approx the 28th of April 2025. Smudge embodies everything we love about this breed. She is outgoing and loves every dog or human she meets. She is a smaller Wheaten of approx 14kgs and has a richly-coloured, golden coat. Rollo was the top Wheaten male in the USA for 2024 (Canine Chronicle All breeds Standings) and weighs 17.5kgs. He is a spectacular, golden boy with a goofy ease in every situation. He is a delight to the eyes and heart. Both Smudge and Rollo are genetically clear for DM, RBP4 and Pln. Both are also hip, elbow and eye screened with excellent results for all exams.
