Having worked in Gundog Rescue and rehabilitation for over 12 years in Germany and Southern Europe as well as over 10 years in dog rescue here in NZ, I feel my time has come to focus on healthy, mentally stable and well balanced dogs that are easy to train and a pleasure to live with. That's how Loewenburg Kennels was born. Our GSP' puppies are handled from birth and raised on the US service dog curriculum. This will ensure calm dogs at home and at work with a focused mind and eager to please attitude.

Home of the dual purpose Hunt Point and Retrieve Gun Dog. Our German stock is based on solid foundations and can be traced directly back to English lines; Midlander, Inchmarlo and Keldy origins. The Midlander bloodline has remained constant since the 1950's, producing successes both in the show ring and the field. We are a small kennel producing the occasional litter. We ensure that each stud dog chosen suits our line and has the proven qualities of a dual purpose German Shorthaired Pointer. Our aim is to produce puppies and dogs that are a pleasure to live with, have the attributes to make them the perfect shooting companion in tandem with conformation to accord with the breed standard.

Est. 2001. My dogs are family first and foremost but we are often found at Conformation shows, Rally O competitions or Scent work trials around the South Island in the weekends. All breeding's are thoroughly researched and I only breed when I want to keep something for myself. Health and temperament of puppies produced is paramount when planning a litter. Parents are fully health tested (Hips/Elbows, eyes, heart, and full DNA panel as a minimum). I only breed occasionally, one litter every 4-5 years. German Shorthaired Pointers from proven working lines who are also competitive in the show ring. Temperament is of the upmost importance to us. Our dogs are great working dogs and much loved pets. One of our puppies has gone on to work for DOC as a Whio (Blue Duck) dog. We fully health test our dogs and encourage all puppy buyers to ensure the puppy they may buy from any breeder is from health tested parents.

We have just the one beautiful black puppy looking for his new family. He is gentle, outgoing, confident and playful. We have been breeding our beautiful type of elegant GSP for more than 50 years. We compete in dogs sports to prove our dogs’ soundness, intelligence and more importantly their temperament and trainability. Our litters have many generations of breeding lines that have been exceptionally successful competing in many of the dog sports. Because we are dog trainers, we pay special attention to socialisation, frequent handling, exploring different environments and varied experiences to ensure a confident, friendly, outgoing nature. Pups are raised to encourage easy house training, not to jump all over you and wants to come when called. As a vet I ensure the best healthy start to life. Pups are wormed, heart worm prevention started, micro-chipped and vaccinated. They are kept at correct lean weight to minimise future joint problems. Sevoier have welcomed a litter from Bristol (Supreme Ch Sevoier Tell Me Lies) and Nora (Aust Ch Sevoier Playing In The Shadows). We are seeking expressions of interest for solid brown male and female puppies available to go to their new forever family homes at 8 weeks old in mid November 2024. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are looking for a loving forever home for a 2.5 year old liver & white female GSP. She is de-sexed, crate trained, well behaved, gets along with other dogs, and has an extremely sweet nature.
