At Daintyfield, we are passionate about developing the Field Spaniel breed in Australia. We breed quality Field Spaniels.
The very beautiful and regal “Harper” also known by her pedigree name as “Australian Champion Dawnus Oh Sweet Cheeses” joined our life in 2019. As the Field Spaniel is very rare in Australia, we are focusing on importing new lines to the country. This means we will bring new Field Spaniel family lines to Australia & help improve the breed diversity in the country.
Harper has passed all her hip scoring, eye tests & heart tests in 2021 & is approved for breeding. Her nurturing, confident & relaxed temperament will follow through to her offspring.
We have grown up with Gundogs all of our life with mother breeding Irish Setters in the 1970s, grandparents having "Pasha" the 3 legged German Shorthaired Pointer & our family dog "Rosie" the Gordon Setter. Our father also has a 5-year-old Field Spaniel named “Hunter" also known as Fieldspan Indian Summer who enjoys a relaxing life chasing birds, following his nose through pine trees and bush at our family property in Bilpin & tagging along with Harper for days on the boat on Sydney Harbour.
We breed beautiful quality Field Spaniels where health testing & temperament is key.
All our puppies will have Puppy Culture training before they go to their forever homes.
We are excited to contribute to the Field Spaniel breed in Australia & share this rare and wonderful breed with new owners.
Located in the southwest of Sydney, Meadowbriar was home to Australia's top ranked Field Spaniel for 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and Australia's first Supreme Champion Field Spaniel in the history of the breed - Multi BIS & Multi BISS Supreme Champion Fieldspan Jammie Dodger (Dodger). Sadly, Dodger passed away in 2023.
We are also home to Australia's DOL top ranked Field Spaniel bitch for 2011, 2012 & 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 prior to a showing hiatus in 2017. Add to that, we are also home to Australia's top ranked rising star for 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016 prior to a showing hiatus in 2017. Since then, we only show sparingly with consistently successful results. We are very proud of our achievements.
We are focused on type, temperament and soundness and are committed to advancing and promoting this beautiful breed. We support health testing of all show & breeding stock. All of our dogs are hip & elbow scored and hold clear eye certificates.

Grantulla Madaoua also known fondly as Medusa is available to the right home she is 12 weeks old. Little Medusa will be a loyal Azawakh with all the traits that make the breed. She is very opinionated and likes to tell you all her thoughts. She is looking to be small like her mother with a quirky little personality. The sire resides in Germany and he excels in shows and Lure Coursing & Racing. The dam has been shown and also gained her first Lure Coursing title this year. In many parts of the world this primitive is categorized as a sighthound, but a rigid interpretation of or strict reliance upon this appellation can lead to confusion and miscommunication. Many of the sighthound type dogs are aloof. But the Azawakh takes it a step further: they are avoidant. They are also highly territorial. Fiercely loyal, they form an exclusive attachment with their master; with strangers, or in unfamiliar situations, they can be extremely reserved, even unapproachable. As with any generalization there are exceptions, but no amount of training or socialization can completely over-ride the primordial distrust and suspicion of 'other' which forms the basis for their reactions to stimuli. With their master and with those they trust, they are independent, playful and gentle. But in every situation they remain alert to the slightest change in their environment. Please contact us for more information. This breed requires experienced dog home generally not for the first time dog owner.
