DEERNBULL Kennels is a small kennel established in 2005. Our main focus is health, breed type and working ability.

We have had Deerhounds in our home since 2002 and have now decided to breed. Lainnir ( a Celtic word meaning Radiance and pronounced Lanir) was established in January 2013. Our first litter born on the 21st May 2017 (Dam CH EILRIG GALENA Sire CH CLACHTOLL UALLACH) produced some lovely Deerhounds. We have kept CH LAINNIR KUNZITE from the litter and her profile is listed on this site, and her mother Lena has now achieved the title of GRAND CHAMPION. We are hoping to have a litter with Kunzite in 2021. The chosen sire will be announced as soon as we have a mating.

We have been showing and breeding hounds since 1972. In 1988 we acquired our first Borzoi followed in 1989 by a Deerhound. Due to business commitments, we exhibit our dogs only sparingly. Despite this our Deerhounds have done well in the showring. In 1994 we imported frozen semen from Fernhill Deerhounds in Canada and, in 2006, a Deerhound from Thistleglen in the USA. All our dogs are housedogs and part of the family.

Breeding for type, soundness and temperament,Our deerhounds are Multi Best of Breed and Challenge winners at Sydney Royal for the last eight years. The 2005 The Best of Breed at Brisbane Royal with our Ch. Weirskints Brighid Roo. In all breeds shows they have achieved in show Best in Group and in group awards. The Puppies are bred for type, temperament and soundness. Their sweet nature will make them excellent family pets. This will be a fawn litter from Australian and USA supreme and grand champion lines. Parents health tested. Hanselmann Great Danes is so proud to announce a superbly bred litter of pups on 19th October.
