We are a small home based kennel located in South Western Victoria, that breed the occasional litter, focusing on health and temperament. We occasionally have Roughs and Smooths available in all Colours, being Sable, Tri and Merle. We ourselves are actively involved in various dog sports and showing with our own collies.

Here at roughclan we raise our babies with love, and around other dogs. They are whelped and raised in the home, and socialised well before going to their new homes. Many of my home bred roughs are certified therapy dogs. I accept only the best homes for them.

While we at Sunshard do breed the occasional litter focusing on health, temperament, and type our main focus is trialling in the performance ring. For this reason we rarely have puppies. When we do have puppies they are bred and raised with performance sports in mind. They are socialised and receive enrichment from birth and we offer support and assistance to our puppy people whenever it is required and we always love to hear how they are going. Our dogs are housed and raised in the home enviroment. All our dogs are hip and elbow scored and DNA tested for CEA, MRD1 and DM.

Predominantly a Collie (Smooth) breeder, at times a Collie (Rough) will be available resulting from litters, where the parents are Rough Coat factored genetically.

A small, home-based kennel aiming to breed sound, happy smooth collies with a love of life and correct conformation, though rough collies are also expected from time to time They are also bred with other dog sports in mind, for example herding and obedience, although the smooth collie is suitable also for tracking and agility or just enjoyed as an adorable family companion. We have been involved with the breed since 2008 beginning with the smooth collie Ch. Jencol Swing Ona Star PT “Nessa”. This young lady has been a great introduction to the breed and we now have her in our hearts and haven’t looked back! We had our first litter of Border terriers, our first breed, in January of 2010, and Nessa was a fantastic nanny to them and still mothers “Casey” the pup we kept! Our first litter of collies was born in February 2012 and we have now a very lovable boy in the mix. Sandicourt Collies have been exhibiting and breeding collies since 1979. We breed to the Breed Standard and our dogs have got amazing temperaments ideal for any family. We have been fortunate to have available to selected homes, 1 sable girl and 2 sable boys. Sire of puppies is Carluke Charmed by a Kiss (Darcy), and mum is the gorgeous Australian Champion Sandicourt Don’t Ya Lover Madly. (Gidget). Gidget is a multi group awarded girl who has excelled in the show ring. Both parents are by imported lines. Both Parents have had full breed DNA profiles, and both have been hip scored with excellent results. These results are available to the new purchaser. Sandicourt have bred many Champions over the years and have also had successful dogs in Obedience, different Dog Sports, and service dogs. These puppies are brought up in the home with my family and we welcome you to come and visit and meet the puppies and the parents. They will be Registered with Dogs Queensland on the Limited Register, DNA’d for Parentage, Microchipped, first vaccination and come with an eye certificate from a Canine Opthamologist. They already had eye health screening with eye specialist at 6 wks, DNA testing (awaiting results), vaccinations, microchipping and health checks. Blue merles are a true bless, they are raised in our house in the city along with pup mom Sofi (sable merle), dad Simba (tri), and great uncle Sam (10yo). They get a lot of cuddles everyday so they will be used to being touched and handled. Early training has already started. We do absolutely our best to nurture them. November update I have a beautiful tri collie male pup waiting for his forever home. Hamish would most likely be good at dog sports like agility and fly ball. He is a delighlful pup. Nanuq collies were born on the 21st july, 2024. The parents have had full genetic profiles completed and therefore these puppies will be clear of CEA., DM, There pedigree are from USA and Australian lines. Hamish lives with his parents and aunts and uncles in a loving home environment.He loves attention, playing with children who visit and letting me know when visitors arrive. Hamish loves being with children Hamish is micro chipped and has had health and eye checks. He has received his first and second vaccination and is about to receive his third. I have a nearly 4 month old tri coloured male collie who needs a forever home. He has started lead training and comes when called by his name. Hamish is quick to learn and always trying to please. He is wonderful with children and has no fear of older dogs. He is registered with Dogs Queensland and due for his third vaccination next Monday 18th November.
