Here at Windkael Kennels we have been hunting with, breeding,& competing with quality Bretons (Britts) of fine European Descent since 1986. Our philosophy has always followed the French edict of 'Breeding for the Whole dog' meaning our dogs are equally at home in the show ring as they are hunting or competing in Field & Retrieving trials. Our foundation sire made history as winer of WGAA Vic's inaugural Retrieving trial, by beating a field of 42 dogs, which included 2 RT Champion Labradors, at their own game. Multiple wins by Windkael Bretons in the field have followed on since. With high emphasis placed on our dogs being integral members of your family we strive to ensure their temperament is as important as their hunting instincts & ability. All of our breeding stock are hip scored to ensure physical soundness with only the very best males & females considered for breeding. I am no longer breeding puppies At Rockfire Brittanys my dogs are loved house pets as well as weekend show dogs. Health, Temperament and Conformation are all equally and vitally important to me when planning any mating. All my brittanys used in breeding have been hip and elbow xrayed and eye checked.
