Judge Profile

I am ANKC licensed to judge Championship Shows of Hounds, Toys, and Non Sporting and FCI licensed to judge FCI Groups 4, 5, 6, 9 & 10 and other specific breeds.

I have had the wonderful opportunity and experience of judging major shows in all states of Australia, together with International appointments in South Africa, USA, Japan, Philippines and New Zealand.

I have been breeding and exhibiting for over 45 years (Afghans, Borzois, Salukis and Whippets) and have had considerable success under my “Talkabout” prefix. I have had great success in the show ring over the years winning numerous All Breed Best In Show and Specialty awards with all the above breeds.

We also had great success with our Whippets, Borzois and not to forget our Afghans which started our love of Sighthounds with one of them winning the inaugural “Australasian Show Dog Of The Year” with the prize being a trip for two to Crufts.

I am currently showing and breeding Salukis, and have owned and shown the top Salukis in Victoria for over 10 years.

I also imported a Saluki from Italy, Dante (BIS Supreme Ch Balmain Del Borghino) with his son Usher (Multi BIS, SBIS Supreme Ch Talkabout Son Of A Gun) being awarded Top Hound in Victoria and Number 1 Saluki in Australia for Show Dog Of The Year in 2014 and Number 1 Saluki in Australia for National Breed Challenge in 2015, 2016, 2018 & 2019. He was also awarded BOB and BIG3 at the prestigious Royal Melbourne Show 2016.

His younger sister Grace (Multi BIS Supreme Ch Talkabout Time After Time) was also the Top Saluki in Australia 2017.

We are presently campaigning the next generation of our Salukis which have been bred in conjunction with Crisnick Kennels in WA.
