My passion for purebred dogs began at an early age. My parents began breeding Irish Setters in the 1970’s and although they focused on their Arabian horses in my younger years, our family was never without an Irish Setter. As I grew, so did my interest in exhibiting and breeding. My main passion is for the gundog breeds having owned and exhibited Best in Show winning Irish Setters, Pointers, Cocker Spaniels and American Cocker Spaniels. Over the years, we’ve bred seldom and selectively but have produced several top winning Irish Setters under the Nauvoo prefix and more recently Lakewinds Pointers in partnership with Jessica Huber (Fraelighte ESS). These dogs have helped us form meaningful and life-long friendships from around the globe. We share our busy inner city lives with our small family of Cocker Spaniels and could not imagine life without this most incredible breed.
In my spare time I enjoy painting and sculpting and our dogs feature regularly as my willing subjects. I work on several committees including the Melbourne Royal Championship Show and Canine Museum Foundation.
I’m licensed to judge all Toys, Terriers, Gundogs and Hounds at Championship show level and am currently studying for my Non Sporting group license. I’ve judged throughout Australia, New Zealand and the United States and consider it an honour and a privilege to judge.
