A.K.C Judge's Number: 64999 Judge : Conformation
I am licensed to judge all breeds in toys working dogs the Hound, Gundog (Sporting Utility and Terrier Groups and also to judge Best in Show in the USA. I have had the privilege of judging these groups all over Australia and New Zealand, including Hound Speciality shows, the Basset Speciality of NSW and the Basset Show in Christchurch New Zealand and the U.S.A and Japan .Canada I have also had the honour of judging in America including the Texas Cluster, Long Beach KC shows held in conjunction with the Eukanuba World Dog Show, the Basset speciality of Southern California, the Basset National of Canada, and the Washington State Hound Club shows.
I have been involved in the dog world since 1978. During that time I have achieved over 100 best in show awards. My first breed was the Irish Setter. I had much success in this breed for over 10 years. I then decided to go into a different breed, so that was when I ventured into the Basset hounds in 1988. I started with one basset, CH Chakrata Oxford Bags, a tri colour dog who took the dog world by storm. He became a multi best in show winner, and was the foundation dog behind my breeding at Earlingford bassets, where over the years I have produced royal and speciality winning bassets. To help my breeding program I have imported bassets from both America , Holland and Sweden. These dogs have also been successful in the show ring, all being multi best in show winners.
Over the years I have been involved in many kennel clubs. I have been a Councillor on the board of Dogs ACT and have been a breed lecturer for Basset Hounds, PBGVs and Irish Setters. I have also been involved in a show training program for beginners to the show ring. I enjoy judging dogs immensely and I am still actively involved in the breeding and showing of my basset hounds.
