Judge Profile

In 1977 my husband David and I purchased our first two Airedales from Australian Airedale breeder Lorna Schuster. Our first Airedale was Hillmere Valiant named after my nana ‘Saunders’ followed by Ch. Hillmere Winall ‘Angus MacDuff’. ‘Mac’as he was known to our many Airedale friends and customers at our Wholesale nursery.

Aust CH. Siccawei Baronet son, a Ch. Drakehall Dragoon grandson was our constant Airedale in so many ways spending every moment of the day with us in our business until the day he died at l3years of age. ‘Mac’ was missed by all who knew him including ‘Danny’ the Shetland pony who often enjoyed running in our paddock with ‘Mac. ‘Mac” started our show and breeding career at Yorkpark

Our Airedale breeder mentored us in grooming, showing and importance of a breed club. She invited us to join and serve on committee even encouraged us to do obedience and confirmation over many years. Looking back this is some 34 years ago during this time due to Lorna’s dedication the A.T.C.V. had an active enthusiastic team either obedience, agility or public demonstrations. David and I continue to serve in the dog world actively running the annual high profile Lillydale Kennel Club All Breeds show in Melbourne. Australia.

In l990 we imported from Sweden Ch. Pinto Wish Upon A Star in whelp to Ch Malmangen Stranger in Paradise. ‘Russin’ subsequently produced a lovely litter in quarantine. In 1990 we were the first Airedale breeders and one of the first breeders in Australia to import frozen semen. We imported from a quality dog American Ch M.J. Stone Ridge Chosen One, a multi winner of the Airedale Terrier Club of America Best of Breed Bowl. The effort combined to form the background for our Yorkpark Kennel.

In 2010 Aust Ch Yorkpark Tzarah achieved fantastic success in U.S.A. winning in top competition with our homebred Ch Yorkpark Tzarah. Campaigned briefly in Australia groomed by myself and shown by David she flew to U.S.A. for final touches by expert trimmers. David showed her under breeder/judges at the Montgomery County K C the Mecca weekend for terriers – we have thoroughly enjoyed the sport of dogs!

I presently groom and show our Airedale & Welsh Terriers and often travel to shows in other states of Australia. Dianne has also groomed and exhibited a Cairn Terrier, Irish Terrier and shown a Boxer. I am a member of National Airedale Club of UK, Airedale Terrier Club of USA, Airedale Terrier Clubs of Victoria, New South Wales & Queensland (Australia), Welsh Terrier Club of UK, Welsh Terrier Club of Southern California (USA). I also support my husband on on the organization committee of the high profile Lillydale Kennel Club an All breed show held in August each year in our City of Melbourne. Australia

Since being Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC) approved to judge The Terrier Group I have had the privilege of judging in USA, New Zealand, Russia, Poland, Sweden and several states within Australia. I am currently studying to complete my licence for The Toy Group to further enhance my judging.
