My aim as a breeder is to breed happy, healthy Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, whether they are to be a cuddly family pet, champion show dog or a blue ribbon winner in dog sports (or even all of the above). I believe that my Wheatens are bred to a high standard and will give you and your family a lifetime of happiness with your furry friend. My Wheatens are best suited for families who will love and cherish them, considering their Wheaten to be an important family member. Puppies are very well socialized and introduced to many every day activities such as grooming, car rides, children and other dogs. Each Wheaten is health tested by qualified veterinarians and possess an outgoing, fun loving temperament. With 5 current SCWTs actively competing in shows they also enjoy participating in competitive and recreational dog sports such as Agility, Obedience & Lure Coursing. They have also been companion/therapy dogs for the sick and elderly, tv stars, performed on stage at pet expos, photo models for advertising and most of all, loving family pets. We (Iain and Clare and our three teenage sons) breed healthy, loving Soft Coated Wheatens from our home in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We have invested enormously in this breed, with seven imports to our Kennel's name, receiving consistent positive feedback from puppy homes all over Australia. Our dogs are known to be affectionate, playful, connected, biddable and suited to suburban life. We like to discuss the nuances of temperament and what you are looking for. All Alinex dogs are fully health tested hip and elbow scored, eye tested and full blood and urinalysis done. All Alinex breeding dogs are PLN clear, and vet certified health status updated prior to every breeding. We work from home and our puppies are raised in the centre of family life, with constant love and attention, and an enormous head start in toilet training. Our puppies come with a lifetime of support, our very own comprehensive puppy manual (so you can be perfectly prepared) and samples of training treats and chew toys. We regularly show our dogs and put them forward for appraisal by local and international judges. We'e bred Wheatens for over 2 decades for temperament and health, with their low odour & low allergy appeal after 30 yrs of Boxers. They have consistent success at Shows, particularly under International & Specialist judges and love to be trained. Margaret travels to Europe to source frozen semen, and to catch up with friends and grooming tips. Celebrating 28+ yrs of natural feeding built from experience in the field. Our breeding program health tests as per recommendations of UK Breed Club of which Margaret is a member. All dogs are clear of the DNA PLN gene variants, linked to kidney issues within the breed. Being retired our dogs have 24/7 care. Whilst show pups are available, we breed for families. Occasionally older dogs are available. Continuing our committment to bring new genetics to the Australian Wheaten genepool, we are thrilled to announce that we have ultrasound confirmation of a healthy pregnancy for first time Mum "Smudge" and our new Import "Rollo". Puppies due the 3rd of March and going to homes anytime from approx the 28th of April 2025. Smudge embodies everything we love about this breed. She is outgoing and loves every dog or human she meets. She is a smaller Wheaten of approx 14kgs and has a richly-coloured, golden coat. Rollo was the top Wheaten male in the USA for 2024 (Canine Chronicle All breeds Standings) and weighs 17.5kgs. He is a spectacular, golden boy with a goofy ease in every situation. He is a delight to the eyes and heart. Both Smudge and Rollo are genetically clear for DM, RBP4 and Pln. Both are also hip, elbow and eye screened with excellent results for all exams. I have a retired breeding girl available for a new home. As she is used to our acre property she will be after a traditional backyard. I also like my girls to remain in Victoria. Miss Remy is an 8 month old, richly coloured Irish coated pup. She was born and raised in our home, and is now looking for her forever home. Miss Remy is very loving and likes to sit on your knee a few times a day (for hours a day if we had the time), and has lovely eye contact . She is for sale at a reduced price because we are hoping to find a very specific home for her. Miss Remy has a strong sense of fun and has always been the life of the party with other dogs in our home. As much as she loves her dog playmates at home, she avoids other dogs on walks as if they are the worst idea ever. With a person she loves, and a dog pal, walks are fun. Without the other dog, she finds walks pointless. This girl is extremely attentive and eager to please. She would be immensely trainable and would love “doing work”. Her coat is going to be a truly amazing Irish style coat, with lovely warm wheaten colour. She is a tiny girl, weighing approximately 12kgs like her mother and two of her grandmothers.
