Castagnetta translates to "Little Chestnut Forrest" which is synonymous with the Lagotto Romagnolo I spent quite a few years researching and learning about the Lagotto Romagnolo before I acquired my girl, Pearl. I have young children with allergies so I needed to make sure the Lagotto Romagnolo was going to be right for our family - having the correct temperament for being around young children and also having a coat that wasn't going to affect the allergies in our family. Pearl (Ch Duoforza Olympia) came to us in 2016 and was raised in our family of 3 young children, a Boxer and a Shih Tzu - she fit in perfectly! I also took the plunge and started showing her, we learnt together and made many mistakes along the way, but it was always fun and we both enjoy it. We have kept the Lagotto Romagnolo breed for a number of years & there are many Incavale Lagottos competing in conformation shows & other ANKC dog sports throughout Australia and overseas. Some of our boys & girls are now registered Therapy Dogs, we have a number being used as truffle dogs, some are being trained as retrievers & there are of course others that are family pets. Most if not all of our mature show dogs are titled & we have younger dogs well on the way to becoming champions. We breed to the Breed Standard & our dogs are raised in an environment that assures social confidence and good health. Our dogs are health tested for all known issues affecting the breed. We keep a number of stud dogs & will only breed dogs that have excellent hip & elbow scores. We also test patellas We have imported a number of titled working dogs from Europe, have imported semen available & keep both locally bred & imported dogs for stud work. We sometimes have puppies available to select homes and we are quite happy to have visitors interested in the breed, visit us. It's important for those who have an interest in learning more about the breed to understand that this breed is a working dog breed and it is essential that you have time to train your Lagotto. We have had our beautiful girls and a boy we have kept from our breeding Ch Alandria given to fly as part of our family for since 2016 and in which time we have taken part in many shows and have done some scent finding work. We are delighted to announce the anticipated arrival of Lagotto puppies from ‘Sara’ and 'Teddy'. We currently have a white male available offering him for sale at $2500. Here at Rustufarion we are committed to the health of our breeding dogs and understand the importance this has in raising genetically healthy puppies. Our lagottos have been screened for the known and genetically testable disorders evident in the Lagotto. Screening breeding animals prior to breeding will ensure these preventable disorders do not affect your puppy from Rustufarion. Further health checks of our breeding dogs includes screening for Hip Dysplasia. We do everything possible to produce puppies with sound temperaments and confirmation and this has been factored into the selection of a suitable sire for these puppies. For this reason we also raise new born puppies in our home where they receive constant supervision, attention and interaction within a busy home. During the first weeks we focus on raising our puppies within a warm environment and commence neurological stimulation. Our puppies are pedigree registered with Dogs NSW as well as being vet checked and vaccinated, microchipped and come with 6 weeks of puppy health insurance. We are pleased to take enquiries for our next litter due to be born at end Feb/very early March (ready for new homes end April), from our beautiful girl Pink (Ch Amicileale Lady Belladonna). Whilst we do already have a wait list, there should be puppies available. I am happy to ship interstate or to consider overseas homes. We have been dedicated to this breed since 2009, with all litters raised using puppy culture protocols to ensure they get the best start in life. We have been blessed with some beautiful Lagotto Romagnolo, with excellent temperament, to start with them in the show ring! I am so happy with what we’ve achieved in our first few years with this breed ( we also have WHW Terriers) And now we finally have our own litter of little curly puppies from our amazing foundation bitch ‘Callie’. Born on Christmas Eve 2024. Callie is 3 and has had an exceptional career, becoming an Australian champion at 9 months, grand champion at 2 years and is also the first Lagotto to attain both her A2O and C.I.B titles!! She was Best in Show at the Lagotto Romagnolo breed specialty show, Sydney Royal in 2023 and has also won several Best in Groups, runner up Best in groups and Class in show awards. But the most important thing is that she is an absolute delight and wins hearts wherever she goes! Puppies sire ‘Ziggy’ JWW '23, EUJW'23 Aust Ch Bombadee Lucky Strike (IMP POL) arrived from Europe at the end of 2023 and also has an amazing, friendly temperament and a coat curl to to die for!
