Castagnetta translates to "Little Chestnut Forrest" which is synonymous with the Lagotto Romagnolo I spent quite a few years researching and learning about the Lagotto Romagnolo before I acquired my girl, Pearl. I have young children with allergies so I needed to make sure the Lagotto Romagnolo was going to be right for our family - having the correct temperament for being around young children and also having a coat that wasn't going to affect the allergies in our family. Pearl (Ch Duoforza Olympia) came to us in 2016 and was raised in our family of 3 young children, a Boxer and a Shih Tzu - she fit in perfectly! I also took the plunge and started showing her, we learnt together and made many mistakes along the way, but it was always fun and we both enjoy it. Aquibella is a Sydney based Kennel run by myself, Athan Lathouras. I am a new breeder but am very lucky to be mentored by the highly regarded Judith Nolan of Incavale. My experience with Lagotto Romagnolo began in 2017 when I acquired Voltaire from Incavale. He is a well mannered white boy that I took to immediately and nicknamed Aquila because of how majestic he is. We spent many good moments together as a duo but I ultimately made the decision to add a female to our family and in 2020 Urianna was welcomed into our home, her nickname is Mirabella. She is a smaller chocolate girl with a bit more cheekiness which balanced Aquila's maturity out perfectly. In between work trips, I fulfilled all the requirements to become a registered breeder and after waiting enough time for Mirabella to grow the two of them finally mated in June of 2023. I feel very blessed to have a foundation litter of seven beautiful healthy pups and am looking forward to continuing down the path of a breeder and working to produce the best and healthiest pups possible. We are delighted to announce the anticipated arrival of Lagotto puppies from ‘Sara’ and 'Teddy'. We currently have a white male available offering him for sale at $2500. Here at Rustufarion we are committed to the health of our breeding dogs and understand the importance this has in raising genetically healthy puppies. Our lagottos have been screened for the known and genetically testable disorders evident in the Lagotto. Screening breeding animals prior to breeding will ensure these preventable disorders do not affect your puppy from Rustufarion. Further health checks of our breeding dogs includes screening for Hip Dysplasia. We do everything possible to produce puppies with sound temperaments and confirmation and this has been factored into the selection of a suitable sire for these puppies. For this reason we also raise new born puppies in our home where they receive constant supervision, attention and interaction within a busy home. During the first weeks we focus on raising our puppies within a warm environment and commence neurological stimulation. Our puppies are pedigree registered with Dogs NSW as well as being vet checked and vaccinated, microchipped and come with 6 weeks of puppy health insurance. We have been blessed with some beautiful Lagotto Romagnolo, with excellent temperament, to start with them in the show ring! I am so happy with what we’ve achieved in our first few years with this breed ( we also have WHW Terriers) And now we finally have our own litter of little curly puppies from our amazing foundation bitch ‘Callie’. Born on Christmas Eve 2024. Callie is 3 and has had an exceptional career, becoming an Australian champion at 9 months, grand champion at 2 years and is also the first Lagotto to attain both her A2O and C.I.B titles!! She was Best in Show at the Lagotto Romagnolo breed specialty show, Sydney Royal in 2023 and has also won several Best in Groups, runner up Best in groups and Class in show awards. But the most important thing is that she is an absolute delight and wins hearts wherever she goes! Puppies sire ‘Ziggy’ JWW '23, EUJW'23 Aust Ch Bombadee Lucky Strike (IMP POL) arrived from Europe at the end of 2023 and also has an amazing, friendly temperament and a coat curl to to die for! We are pleased to take enquiries for our next litter due to be born at end Feb/very early March (ready for new homes end April), from our beautiful girl Pink (Ch Amicileale Lady Belladonna). We have been dedicated to this breed since 2009, with all litters raised using puppy culture protocols to ensure they get the best start in life.
