It wasn’t until 2009, after countless hours of research for a suitable working breed, and as if by chance, that I stumbled on a picture of a Finnish Lapphund. I began asking around and sent enquires and finally in 2011 I was blessed with my first Lappie Heidi. I’ve never looked back and since then, have added two more to my clan Lappies have had such an amazing impact on my life and I hope to bring this same joy and love to many others in the future. We don’t breed often and aim to keep our numbers at home small so each dog can have the love and attention they deserve. We are always looking for loving homes to help us showcase this amazing breed by offering a welcoming family and for some, by allowing their dog to contribute to the future of Ehana. Our dogs successfully compete in Conformation Showing as well as a variety of performance sports. We welcome any enquires from potential families who would like to dip their toe in either of these worlds and are happy to mentor and support anyone wanting to give them a go. @bucolickfarm instagram is regularly updated with photos of Bucolick puppies and past and present. The 2024 ‘Seeds of Time’ litter have all gone to their new families. Next litter likely 2025. This is broadly South to Byron, West to Toowoomba and North to Noosa. Lumottu is the Finnish word for Enchanted and that is what sums up a Finnish Lapphund for me, Enchanting. I fell in love with the breed in 2009 and have since added two into my household. Along with my dogs I enjoy my weekends attending conformation shows as well as obedience classes. Lappies fit into a household with ease. Happy to be out and about or sleeping on the couch. Puppies will have had a vaccination, be registered with Dogs NSW, microchipped and come with an extensive puppy pack, training information, 2 months free pet insurance. All of my Lappies of breeding age are DNA tested and have hip and elbow scores as well as eye testing done before breeding, a copy of this comes with your puppy pack. The puppies will be raised in the home and experience many different scenarios and surfaces. Deerlane Finnish Lapphunds is expecting our “Critter Litter” of little Love-Bugs due February 2025. Parents-to-be are Ariana (Tundrai Bear To Bee Sweet JC) & Kailo (American Grand Ch Alnopa Ukonvasara IMP USA). Parents are health tested for breed relevant diseases (DNA, CHEDS Hip & Elbow scored, ACES eye cleared, cardiologist cleared). Colours expected are Wolf Sable & Brown Wolf Sable only. Price approx $4000. We are open to pet, sports & show/breeding homes. Ariana is an affectionate girl who excels in sports/herding. Kailo is a stunning dog imported from Norway (via the USA). He’s a big cuddle bug, has moderate drive & a “look at me” personality. Both are food driven & social with people/dogs/cats. Whilst Lapphunds may look like teddy-bears, it’s important to remember they’re a working breed. From this combination I expect friendly, cuddly puppies with a natural herding instinct, intelligence, moderate drive & good trainability. Here at Deerlane our dogs are first and foremost family. They are raised and live in my home (on my couch). Puppies aren’t available often as I only breed when I have the time & resources to give them the best possible start at life. We do not have staff or the resources to hold “open days” like a commercial kennel as this is my home, but do encourage those looking for a puppy to meet us & get to know our dogs. Theldaroy is a foundation lapphund breeder in Australia. We have been breeding them since 2001 and at present have the rare occasional litters. I have not had a litter for some years and usually only a couple per annum. We believe that quality is of paramount importance. We do not breed for the puppy market but for ourselves. I have done an insemination with Aarre to Moska. I am truly excited with this planned litter. This litter is now confirmed. I will be expecting black and tan or brown pups. Reko is a loving boy who is now looking for his forever home. He is good with female dogs and has been with a non aggressive male. He will react to males if the show dominance to him. He initially was fantastic in his first home. He has been a kennel dog since around 5 months of age. He really needs a loving home with someone that will be home a lot. He is not a nuisance barker.
