Mastdoch was founded by Peter & Karen Docherty who first imported a Mastiff from Bredwardine Kennels in 1992 from the UK. Over the years we have produced multiple Best In Show and Best in Group winners (all breeds Champ level).

We breed and exhibit all 3 colours. All of our breeding dogs are health tested for cystinuria, PRA, CMR1, DM and are hip and elbow scored.

Home of Mungo, the first Mastiff to win Best in Show at an All Breeds Show in Australia for over 100 years and first for the 21st century. We only breed from dogs that are hip and elbow scored. Our passion for the breed has led us overseas and made us many friends and contacts. We have produced the first frozen semen litter for Mastiffs in Australia which was from semen imported from USA in conjunction with Yangerdook Mastiffs - this litter was registered under the joint prefix with D. Hobbs ''Yanoor. In spite of our consistent and current top awards at Mastiff specialites, Royals, and in All Breeds competition, we chose to breed our dogs infrequently and, as such, even more carefully select our breeding pairs. When puppies are available, for Australia and New Zealand they are for companion homes to be part of the family. We have 2 pups available from our current litter born 23 September 2024. There is currently 1 male and 1 female red and white pups available ( both with tails). These pups are now 8 weeks old and are ready to go to their new homes. The puppies have been well handled since birth ( mum Dusty outdid herself and produced 9 gorgeous pups) as we were supplementing feed from Day 1. The puppies have been vaccinated and microchipped. They have been wormed fortnightly. The pups have been reared on a premium kibble in conjunction with BARF puppy mixture. Pups will go to their new homes with sufficient food to make the transition easier. Our pups are reared in the home and are socialised with some of our other dogs. They have had time to run and play in our grassed front yard ( under supervision). These pups will be registered with Dogs NSW on Limited registration meaning that they are not to be bred from or shown but can still participate in other dog sports such as agility, scentwork, obedience etc. The pups will go on a desex contract that requires them to be desexed once they reach adequate maturity ( between 8 and 12 months). My pups go to their new homes with a puppy pack to make the transition easier. I am always available to provide support for my puppy buyers.
