Lochbrowan Scottish Deerhound Kennels are located outside Taupo, NZ. Our aim is to breed deerhounds for three main points 1) to be good companions 2) to be excellent specimens of the breed with great conformation and true movement; and 3) to be capable of undertaking their original work. We are proud to offer some of the best bloodlines found in the world, and our dogs are making their mark in the show ring and in the field. Unforeseen circumstances mean we have a couple of pups available to exceptional homes. This litter, born in early October '25 have had their first health check, vaccination and microchip. Deerhounds are not your average dog. They love human companionship and interaction and make excellent pets. They do need the ability to run around very fast daily. They also sleep about 23 hours of the day. These dogs are large in size (40+kgs), are a hunting breed, and do require training and socialization. As a wire haired breed their coats are easy to maintain. Our pups are born in our house and raised in our home with our children and busy lives. Usually they are fairly well toilet trained before they go to their new forever home. Extensive efforts have been made to introduce as many situations as is possible without exposure to illness. The Pups parents were DNA screened for Factor VII and tested for Liver Shunt. These pups are Registered with Dogs NZ. Healthwise, the pups are wormed every fortnight, treated with a flea treatment, microchipped and vaccinated prior to going home. They will leave with 6 weeks free pet insurance which we encourage purchasers to maintain. Each pup will go home with a puppy pack, which includes a manual with details of how they have been reared and with helpful information, registration papers, a fortnights’ worth of food, treats, toys, blanket, collar, lead and a contract.
