Appearance
The Polish Lowland Sheepdog is a medium sized dog with a wire haired coat and soft under coat. Coat colour is generally white with grey or black and plain grey. They have a dark eye, a level top line and a bob tail.
History
The Polish Lowland Sheepdogs origins are beleived to come from Tibetan breeds such as the Tibetan Terrier, which were intrduced to Europe by Tibetan traders. It is then thought they were interbred with Hungarian sheepdogs which were intrduced to Europe over a 1000 years ago. They worked on the Polish lowlands with shepherds herding sheep.
Temperament
He is an alert, loyal, happy dog, wary of strangers but affectionate to those he knows and good with children and most other pets but will hold his own if challenged. He is quick to learn but can be willful.
Care / Grooming
The long wire coat will need to be brushed every couple of days The Polish Lowland Sheepdog needs to exersise daily he is an intelligent dog that needs to be stimulated with games and does well at agility. He preferes to live inside with his family and to take the family out to play.
Health
The Polish Lowland Sheepdog is a hardy breed with no major problems.
