Our dogs compete in multiple dog sports including agility, obedience, herding and lure coursing, as well as the show ring occasionally. We breed a select few litters with a focus on happy, healthy lifelong family members. All dogs in our breeding program are extensively health tested including hip & elbow scores, genetic testing, opthamologist certification and heart certification. We raise our puppies in our home on a premium holistic diet and follow the renowned Puppy Culture program, giving our puppies an optimal beginning through early socialization, enrichment, and positive reinforcement methods. Our puppies benefit from early neurological stimulation, helping to develop their neurological systems and giving them a head start in cognitive development. All puppies are sent to their new homes microchipped, up-to-date on worming and vaccinations, accompanied by copies of their ophthalmologist exam certificate, pedigree papers, and health check certificate, along with an extensive puppy pack. At Hartly I aim to breed shelties that are suitable for all disciplens, including showing, agility, obedience and of course a much loved family member.

My love for the sheltie began when I a young girl. I started showing in 2003 and bred my first litter in 2006 Shelties are truly a wonderful dog that brings so much joy to ones life.
When looking at a sheltie my heart just melted with that sweet face.

My dogs are bred in a loving environment and socialised well as I feel this is very important. My dogs are not only show dogs they are much loved members of my family. In fact I don't think they know their dogs sometimes!!

I have shown many shelties to their Champion, Grand Champion and Supreme Champion titles along the way winning the ultimate Best in Show, specialties and all breeds. Hartly have bred 28 champions.
13 times Hartly Shelties have won Best In Specialty Show and of that 4 times also winning Runner up to Best in Show.

First and foremost our dogs are our family members. Temperament is number one for us without compromising quality of dog. Our puppies are from parents with good conformation and quality pedigrees. We are on acreage so puppies also get lots of exposure to the on goings of outdoors as well as being raised with our other shelties as a pack family. A sheltie is a working breed and they absolutely love having a job to do here which could be anything from coming for a run while we feed the horses, rounding the kids up on their bikes or sneaking into their bedrooms for a cuddle at bed time. The sheltie really is such a wonderful versatile breed. All of our dogs are DNA'd before being bred. We have received a lot of feedback from new owners on how well handled and socialised our puppies are which is always lovely to hear.
We usually have a couple of litters per year and we welcome enquiries.

We have been involved with Shetlies for over 40 years , and have breed numerous Champions, who hold their own at Group and In Show level .In the last 10 years we have imported from Australia and the UK to compliment our gene pool.These bloodlines will further our aim to breed that typical sweet expression in our shelties along with correct movement and temperment in the same package. We are a small kennel on the coast in Western Victoria. We have been breeding quality shepherds for 9 yrs and have been successfully showing them in the All breeds and Specialty rings.
