I fell in love with this breed 15 years ago when I was introduced by the lady who is responsible for bringing the first Portuguese Podengo to Australia. I have been breeding Podengo Small Smooth Haired for over 10 years. This versatile breed excels at pretty much anything they try. They are smart, sweet little dogs with a great sense of humour. They never really take anything too seriously & lighten even the darkest of days with their joyful antics. Alarves Podengos have been successful in the show ring all over Australia: Winning Best Of Breed at Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Royal Shows for seven years in a row. Winning Best Of Breed at Sydney Royal with the largest entry of 17 Podengos and awarded Junior in the Hound Group at the 2017 Royal Queensland Show. Alarves Podengos are proud to have bred the only Podengo in Australia to have been awarded Best In Group (Group 1st) of the Hound Group and Runner Up to Best In Show (BIS 2nd). Alarves Podengos also compete successfully in other dogs sports such as Obedience, Agility, Scentwork, Lure Coursing & SprintDog (100m sprint), both here in Australia and in New Zealand. Alarves are proud to have bred the only Podengos in Australia to gain their lure coursing titles of Coursing Ability to Coursing Ability Masters. Expressions of interest are invited for a litter of puppies expected in only two weeks from Boambillee Ring the Bell (Billie) and Nabucco Magic Mirror (Cleo). Both parents carry the AG protective heart gene and have clear dna for EFS, CC/DE, CM, DM and OAD. So puppies could be AG or even hopefully some GG. Mum and dad are cardiologist cleared. Hello everyone, I have 3 very handsome Blenheim males aged 4-5m (Bodhi, Jagger & Cyril) & Mia, a happy Ruby female aged 12wo. Beautiful temperaments & very much love & want cuddles. All are looking for loving homes.

As Pets Only, these puppies have been vet checked, fully vaccinated & microchipped. Very happy & playful, they are more than ready to go to the right home. All my puppies are wormed following correct protocols. They are toilet trained, & crate trained which has many benefits.

Bred to the breed standard & from shown dogs which have been Specialist checked for Hearts & Eyes plus full DNA profiling. Our adult dogs are smaller at around 7-7.5kgs & all sleep in the main house. Ask about vacation time here for my homebred dogs. Such a beautiful breed which would suit most families. We have lived with cavaliers for over 40 years & as responsible breeders, are always available.
