We brought home our first Rough Collie in 2020 and 2 more followed in quick succession as we fell in love with the breed. Passionately showing our dogs, we have titled all three of our bitches as New Zealand Champions. Our first litter was born June 2023 and we are enjoying having the girl we retained being competitive in the show ring, giving us our first home bred Champion.
We have been very lucky to import some lovely dogs from Cathkin kennels in Australia starting with our tri boy NZ Ch Cathkin Lastinimpression (Imp Aus) who made a very lasting impression on us and he sired our first home bred champion Ch Lastin-Blaize of Collievale.
The last couple of years has seen us consolidate on our other imports - NZ Ch Strathaven Maker of Dreams (Imp Aus) (Atlas), NZ Ch Cathkin Pretty Spectacular (Imp Aus) (Xena) and NZ Ch Cathkin Lordy Miss Maudie (Imp Aus) (Maudie)
The future looks bright for us at Collievale and we have a lot to be thankful for with the help people have given us. Visit our website to see what we are up to.
We currently have a litter of blue merle and tri, 06/11 will be 8 wks old.
I had my first dog Sam now 10 yrs young who is a tri-coloured rough collie. He is from a reputable breeder in NZ. I came to know collies after loads of research and believe I have found the one. Sam is the best dog I would ever ask for. After 5 years we were able to have Sam a dog family member too, so we went back to the breeder and luckily able to have a girl from Sam's litter sister who we adored. We agreed on possibility of breeding her in the future, completely naive about breeding. Then the studying has started and is still going, it's HUGE. This is my third Degree.
We love this breed so much and would do everything to protect them, and find homes that truely deserve such amazing companions. So we have started small, and knowing the difficulties involved of breeding, we take every step carefully and seriously, and do the right thing. Therefore, all our pups will be fully papered and transparent with the information only for those who seriously consider a collie in their life.
If you would like to get in touch about the possibilities, you are always welcome to email, call, message, and we are happy to share any information we have about the breed.
Have been showing Rough Coat Collies since 1985,when our first boy joined us in our family. In 2011 I imported an Ingledene Bitch from the famous UK Kennel ,and together with my Braemist boy from a top New Zealand Kennel my line was started.Just bred my 2nd litter which has some exciting breeding behind it.

Fully papered puppies. They already had eye health screening with eye specialist at 6 wks, DNA testing (awaiting results), vaccinations, microchipping and health checks. Blue merles are a true bless, they are raised in our house in the city along with pup mom Sofi (sable merle), dad Simba (tri), and great uncle Sam (10yo). They get a lot of cuddles everyday so they will be used to being touched and handled. Early training has already started. We do absolutely our best to nurture them. We are looking for the absolute best of the best homes for them. We encourage you to come and meet the pups and the dogs. Contact me and I can tell you what I can observe so far from them of their personalities.
-Woody - Blue merle
-Diva - Blue merle
-Winner - Blue merle
-Richie - tri
-Zola - tri
We need to see you demonstrate you can provide a loving and secure stable home for them, they are 16 years of commitment if not more, and you must have proven support to look after them if you are going to be away. We prefer you have experience of having a dog for long term and have done your best research about rough collies, we need you to ask questions.
